Filoxenia Apartments

We stayed at Filoxenia Apartments in Kythera for our honeymoon, and everything was absolutely perfect!
From the moment we arrived, Marina, our wonderful host, gave us the warmest welcome with a beautifully romantic decoration in our apartment. The place was spotless, very spacious, and offered a stunning view of the mountains.

Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of choices every morning. The whole staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help. The swimming pool was beautiful and extremely clean, and the poolside cocktail bar was such a nice touch!

They even helped us book a rental car and arranged a taxi for our return to the airport, which made everything so easy.

We are truly grateful for such a memorable stay and couldn’t have chosen a better place for our honeymoon. We highly recommend Filoxenia Apartments 100%!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Philoxenia, and we cannot recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, owners and staff made us feel truly welcome, their warmth and genuine hospitality set the tone from the beginning for a wonderful stay.

The facilities were spotless and very well maintained, while the rooms had a comfy, tastefully designed interior that made us feel instantly at home. Everything was sparkling clean, with great attention to detail that added to the sense of peace and relaxation.

Breakfast was another highlight! Each morning we were treated to a delicious spread of homemade Greek specialties — fresh bread, local cheeses, and other traditional delights like original Greek yoghurt of high quality, the jams and sponge cake, were prepared with love from the owner.

Philoxenia is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience of genuine hospitality, comfort, and tradition. We are already looking forward to returning, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the island of Kythera !

Spacious and clean rooms, exceptional staff and great location. Breakfast was great, and we found the recommendations on the map handed to us at welcome to be very helpful!

The apartment is spacious and cozy with a large bathroom, very clean. The whole structure is in excellent condition, the breakfast area is nice where to enjoy a large choice of salty or sweet food. The real bonus are Marianna and Michalis, they manage the hotel at the best with a friendly staff. We spent 8 days and we felt like to be at home. A stay at Filoxenia is highly recommended!

Η τοποθεσία ήταν καλή (στην Αγία Πελαγία όπου υπάρχουν ταβέρνες, καφετέριες, mini market) σε πολύ μικρή απόσταση. Αφορά ένα κατάλυμα που μπορεί να φιλοξενήσει μέχρι 5 ενήλικα άτομα με ιδιωτικότητα και άνεση. Τα κρεβάτια ήταν άνετα με καινούργια στρώματα. Οι ιδιοκτήτες φιλικοί και με πρόθεση να βοηθήσουν.

Our stay at Filoxenia exceeded our expectations. The entire property is beyond beautiful with a bar and very clean pool. The staff were beyond kind and helpful, even calling a taxi when we needed. The breakfast is insanely good with a wide variety of choices. The room itself was huge, very clean and had amazing air conditioning with a very comfortable bed. Our stay was amazing and if you want to stay I. Agia Pelagia, it is well worth the money!

Breakfast, location and room in general

This is a family owned hotel that exemplifies Greek hospitality - fresh breakfast cooked daily by the owners, every effort made to meet and anticipate the needs of guests, and all executed with an invariably welcoming smile and warm heart, including from the friendliest cleaners on the planet. There is a great atmosphere throughout the day, from the buzz at breakfast to the socializing around the pool followed by drinks in the early evening. The hotel's location is extremely convenient: within a few minutes' walk from several organised and unspoilt beaches, Agia Pelagia also offers numerous local restaurants and cafes to cater for all tastes, from brunch to traditional Greek pastries to oven baked pizza and good seafood: arguably the broadest choice at any single location across the island. There is loads to do, and in our 3 weeks staying at Filoxenia we barely managed a first pass at the island's most stunning beaches which, even in peak August season, rarely felt crowded. The open air live music concerts in squares, beaches and cafes were a particular highlight, as was the pervasive kindness and laissez-faire of the people of Kythira. We will be back to create more great memories...
