La vacanza a Hirakleio poteva avere un risvolto migliore se non fosse che ci hanno assegnato un mini studio poco confortevole,per letto c era una cuccia x cani, in mezzo alla stanza una colonna che non permetteva nemmeno un comodino,quella che chiamavano saletta occupata da un mini frigor e un divano assurdo con un tavolo rotondo che occupa a 3 quarti della stanza,i piatti o le tazze si dovevano lavare nel lavabo dove ci si lava il viso,la grandezza del lavabo era per la "Barbie" impossibile anche lavarsi. Il mini studio era TUTTO in cartongesso compreso le scalePer entrare ci voleva un codice,in realtà bastava allungare la mano e girare la manopola (Viva la sicurezza). Voto:5 da non consigliare

The apartment was clean when we arrived but I had to call on the 4th day to ask about the cleaning arrangements because I wasn't informed that I had to arrange it myself. The apartment is down an alley which has no access by car with stairs at one end. It was very difficult for the taxi from the airport to find. I was travelling with my elderly mother and we used taxis a fair bit so when we used taxis after that we had them pick us up or drop us off using an address from the road that had access without steps. Arriving in the evening, I would have appreciated some instructions about how to access the apartment due to the narrow alley.
The layout of the apartment wasn't very well thought out. The 2 plugs for the coffee maker and the kettle were above the sink and there was just enough space to make a coffee but it would have been challenging to have prepared any food if there had been any cooking equipment, The whole of the main area was taken up with a double bed and there was no table and chairs inside, so if we didn't want to sit outside we either had to sit on a small wooden stool which was very uncomfortable or on the bed which was rather unhygienic as we were using both double beds to sleep in. If we were staying for a night or two that would have been fine, but we were there for a week. It seems to me that it would have been more practical to have had a sofa bed and a table and chairs in the main area because it was very cramped with the double bed and there was nowhere to sit. The main area was a little over utilized. The bathroom was very small but we managed, although a shelf in the shower would have been useful because we had to leave all bottles on the floor. I wouldn't recommend the apartment for anyone wanting to use both beds or for those planning on more than a few days.

The only little remark I have with respect to the room, is that it did not have an appropriate table and chairs. Instead it had several modern looking "tree trunks" that had to function as such. While this is a nice interior design, it is somewhat less handy and easy if you have to do computer work (which was the case for me). Yet, for the remainder it was an excellent room and setting, and I'm sure that if I had asked for an extra table and chair, it would have been provided.

I didn't find a bin to put waste in so I used a plastic bag instead. Also, the sofa is a tad uncomfortable for watching TV. An L-shaped sofa placed flush against the wall would be great.

Water pump noise at midnight, unable to sleep. E-mailed owner, fixed the problem. Water leaking from shower to floor. Did not mention self management.

The apartments are obviously newly renovated (top floor still under construction) so there are a few tiny teething problems. Needs more mugs and cutlery; a shelf in the shower wouldn't go amiss; and electrcal sockets in kitchenette area badly position - but, hey, this is Crete! The lovely, daily cleaner asked if there was anything we needed - so the crockery/cutlery situation was easily resolved.
