The hotel is basic but modern, peaceful and rooms always very clean. The staff were really helpful, and one even gave us a free mug of local mountain tea to try with Cretan honey, which was a lovely gesture!
Great location- lots of great local greek restaurants to eat nearby, quiet beaches in walking distance both directions from the hotel and the hotel itself is very quiet if you wanted to stay by the pool. As others have mentioned, you do get the planes flying over as it's near to the airport, but we didn't find these distracting or an issue, and there aren't any flights during the night so we slept very well.
The bus stops are right by the hotel so it's really easy to get to the airport or neighbouring towns for a couple of euros.
We booked a few tours from the recommended company VIP Excursions and enjoyed both of them very much and considered them good value.
As we had a late flight, we were allowed to still use the facilities on our last day and were given clean towels so we could use the shower by the pool and could change before going home.
We found the staff were very responsive to our questions on the booking.com message function.
We really enjoyed our stay in Kokkini Chani and Mira Living, and would happily stay again!
The hotel is modern but in need of some repairs to the pool decking and some of the room furnishings- we did visit at the end of the season however so this could just be down to timing!
Whilst you can get towels for the pool/beach if you leave a deposit, you cannot get any fresh ones during your stay.
We paid for a suite room but didn't have some of the amenities listed on the booking site e.g. no sofa/separate living room, full use of minibar was one bottle of water and nothing else, there is an iron but no ironing board, no kettle in the room, and you can only just about see the sea from the terrace... so we were disappointed with the upgrade as it felt more like a standard room considering what we were expecting from the listing.
The rooms would be improved with a full size mirror and more storage so you can fully unpack without having to sacrifice all surfaces/seating in the room to do so.

La struttura è trascurata nella zona piscina i lettini sporchi , la piscina ha le fughe sporche e anche il fondo piscina , travi di legno rotte bisogna stare attenti dove si mette i piedi .
La zona piscina non ha nessuna privacy in quanto ha una apertura verso la strada , gente che passa a piedi, auto, camion ecc

Parece un hotel abandonado, estaba muy sucio, la piscina y las Hamacas daban bastante asco la verdad, es una pena porque el hotel tiene una decoración bonita

Walking distance from the beach,nice pool and breakfast area, the rooms were spacious and comfy and plenty of parking. Katrina was especially helpful even sorting out cleaning my hat when it got covered in cat hair and I’m very allergic to cats.
The only downside was it is close to the airport so the planes are visibly landing overhead but if you can ignore that it’s fine. The bathroom needed air fresher and the sink mirror had limescale streaks. It could have had a full length mirror.

Amazing location, right outside Heraklion and close to the airport. The sound of planes didn't bother us at all, it's not an issue here.
Kokkini Hani is small so supermarkets/restaurants/bars are all a short walk away. Pharmacy right next door.
Friendly staff and gives the vibe of a family run business We arrived early but our room was ready straight away.
We really liked the aesthetic of the hotel and the rooms. The bathroom does get very wet since there's no shower curtain and the actual shower part is very small. Bed was super comfy!
Can't say anything about the pool because we didn't use it (we were out and about all day, every day) but looked super okay to us.

The room was chic and decorated very modern with rattan style. It was spacious and equipped with fridge, great balcony, two seated chairs inside and TV. The location was good for the beaches and some local restaurants. Nearby rent a car spots too. The family who owned the hotel are so kind and caring. Even Grandma gave me a hug on my last day. There were so many plug outlets too.
The hotel itself was great. Only thing was the noise of the airplanes.
Please also add a full length mirror. That would make the bedroom perfect.
The pool area was nice, but cushions need new covers. The warm welcome from Maria and free welcome drink were appreciated.
Patio chairs (on the patio for the rooms) were not comfortable.
Staff very welcoming and helpful. Main Street access to all you need. Beach nearby even though it’s not the nicest in Crete. Spacious rooms.
Location is not that good and noisy (busy road with buses, cars and motorcycles) . Pool area is nice but needs a deep cleaning after all the summer tourists. They also refused to refund my second night even though I had emergency to attend. You can use this hotel for a night to transfer somewhere else but I wouldn’t recommend spending a vacation there. Water comes up in the shower which isn’t uncommon in Greece. Also, the hotel was empty when I was there and it didn’t feel that safe.
