Senses Blue Boutique hotel

We konden helaas niet zwemmen, dat was jammer maar dat was wegens bepaalde omstandigheden en het hotel kon hier niks aan doen.

Buffet non assolutamente all'altezza di un 4 stelle, prezzo non in linea con cibo offerto. Non c'era mai la frutta fresca a parte anguria.
Struttura ideale solo per pernottamento. TV non funzionante.

Breakfast was basic. The roof top swimming pool was small with not many sunbeds and the floor surface around the pool is very slippery. The toilet in the bedroom was very small and you couldn't sit on the toilet without the door being open.

The rules were far too strict. It would have been nice to have at least a small bottle of water upon arrival!

When these were mentioned we were gaslit by management basically accusing us of not knowing how to run the AC units and told that when their staffed checked the room that smelled like smoke it was “perfectly clean”. Not something I would expect from a reputable hotel.

One major downside is the heat in the rooms – without the AC, it’s unbearable, like being in a sauna. The air conditioner had to run all night just to make it comfortable enough to sleep.

Another small issue is the glass doors on the shower and toilet – they’re semi-transparent, which isn’t ideal when staying with family. The toilet itself is extremely small, literally like one on an airplane.

While I was having a breakfast with a friend from another room, the front desk lady ran to us and started screaming at us in front of everyone, she accused my friend for not paying for the breakfast. This was a very humiliating experience. We are grownup men (36+). Obviously we all paid, I even paid for dinner. Never came back to eat after this one breakfast. Even if someone was stealing your eggs, you should have a better approach.
The rooms feel hunted, all the lights flash every few minutes. They said it’s because we are on an island, but I never had it in any other hotel in Crete.
The toilet is very small, couldn’t close the door, not when standing and not when sitting.
My TV was broken. They said that they bought a new one, but never replaced it.

No basic equipment in the room like cups or a garbage can.

Where do we start? The bathroom/toilet is designed in an open space and closed with glass, everyone can hear and partially also see what you’re doing, probably ok for long time married couples but definitely not for young couples, groups of friends etc, also the toilet room is the smallest in the world, i am 1.77cm and could barely sit without my knees touching the glass door, horrible.,
Lights in the room keeps jumping (we had 2 rooms and it happened in bot all the time for 5 days), tvs dont work, no trash cans in the rooms (isn’t it basic?), ac take a LONG time to cool the room but eventually did the job, also the receptionist yelled at us when we started eating breakfast the we didn’t book breakfast, but we did, very uncomfortable and unprofessional, even if we didn’t, there is a way to approach guests.
Oh and my friend that stays in a different hotel came by to give me a an orthopaedic pillow he bought for me cause forgot to bring one for ly back issues and she did not allow him to go up to my room after i have confirmed on the phone that he is my friend and just came to bring me something an leaving, she said no guests and something about covid policy (covid is not a thing anymore lady), also only one room key so if you want to sleep and your friend wants to stay out you have to wake up and open the room for him, or try to find the receptionist to open it for you..
Some more minor issues but honestly you get the point, we are 35-37 year old married man who travel quite often, this was a weird and new experience
