Faulty Towers service, take your own pillows, otherwise vey pleasant.
Pros:

Good location, very clean. Nice large unit.

Cons:

Very poor customer service. Had a very bizarre « Faulty Towers »episode. Rang ahead to advise we had a calamity and could potentially be late, no lock box or availability to leave a key out, so we sorted our problem and managed to arrive at 8.00pm in pouring rain, to closed reception and no one answering phone calls or messages. Eventually someone arrived after 8.30pm and blamed us for ruining their night and arriving early. Just couldn’t win!
ALSO the pillows are TERRIBLE! Take your own !

Very well equipped, particularly appreciated the washing machine and drier.

Cons:

Little privacy without closing the curtains right across the front of the room then, unsurprisingly, it was dark inside.
Unusual shutters in a window space between the bedroom and the bathroom also gave little privacy.

Excellent motel in a top location
Pros:

We travelled the South Island for two weeks and spent the last three days at the Randolph. It was an excellent place to stay to do our washing and get packed up and ready for home. The room was large and furnishing were comfortable. The kitchenette had a cook top, microwave and fridge. The bathroom had a good shower. We had an upstairs room with a pleasant view. The Randolf is withing walking distance to the Merivale Mall, shops and restaurants.

Cons:

Not much in the way of TV channels. But we managed!

Dacron bedding. Cars parked right in front of our room and privacy was difficult with no way of shutting off the view from passers by
