A terrible stay at a terrible property

My husband and I rarely complain, but this property was SO bad that we just had to post a comment and warn other travelers not to fall into the same trap.

We booked this room on the ground floor for our supposed chill and relaxing Malta vacation.

It turned out the room was located right next to the building's front door. This was conveniently not mentioned anywhere in the property's Booking.com listing.
The front door of the building is particularly heavy and was being shut closed with force literally every 20-40 minutes by other guests going in and out. The whole room was literally shaking non-stop. We could barely get any sleep at all. Unfortunately we had already booked day trips for each day of our vacation, so we couldn't just pack our luggage and go look for another hotel to stay.
We reported the problem to the proeprty's management and received a blunt reply that it is what it is and they do in fact have other, quiter rooms where they can move us to, but we will have to pay them a 35℅ surcharge on the entire booking price and on top of it, we will have to pay for the professional cleaning of our current room, so that it will be clean, tidy and ready for their next victims.

On top of the top of that, the room turned out to be infested with ants and mosquitoes too(see photos).

Malta is a beautiful country worth visiting. By all means, do visit, BUT avoid Sliema Creek Suites at all cost!
