Tokyo International Hotel

Excellent experience with Tokyo International Hotel, as a matter of fact, 2nd time here.

The room is small but enough, and mostly importantly, clean. Excellent breakfast every morning. Various team members, such as Alfred, as an example, take the time to try to get to know me. Some team members actually remember me from last stay 2 years ago!

Do note that it is a little bit of a walk to an MRT station, about 10 minutes.

First time in Taiwan. The hotel staffs were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional especially Sally. Room was clean and comfortable. We really appreciated being able to do our laundry before our tour-made the days so much easier. I truly appreciate the positive experience.

Went over and beyond expectations. Staff were polite, helpful, friendly and even prepared a birthday surprise present for my partner. Personalized service. Very clean room and modern bath and toilet. We would definitely love to stay here again

Very clean and tidy. Close to train station. In joyed breakfast and friendly helpful staff.

Staff is very accommodating. They speak English, Mandarin, and Japanese all fluently. The rooms are very clean, and I feel very welcomed and comfortable during my stay here. The baths are quick to fill. This is also a very convenient location to and have shopping and eating a easily within a short walk. Many thanks to Erick Hsu for making this such a warm walk of being environment. Five stars.

We stayed for nine nights. Front desk is outstanding and tremendously helpful. The property is in the old part of town, and it's not easy to maintain in great shape. However, it was good overall. We had some issues with internet connectivity which were promptly and successfully dealt with. Location is fantastic for activities along the Red Line which is where most activities we wanted to see and do take place. We had zero issues with street noise or contiguous room noise. TV is horrible in quality of signal and type of programing but nobody should go to Taipei to watch TV at a hotel room anyways. In our next visit, we are definitely going back to this slice of Japan in the middle of Taipei!!!

Although the rooms are quite small and breakfast is modest, the hotel is centrally located and quite close to the station. There is a familyMart opposite. They have Super friendly staff who are always available to help and great for a short stay.

Friendly, family owned, cozy economy hotel. Offers Japanese style breakfast, very tasty and lots of choices. Room is clean and spacious, electric kettle, hair dryer, shampoos and body soap are installed. From environmental conservation reasons, amenities like toothbrush, razor, hair brush etc are not included. Bring your own or you can buy it at front desk with small fee. Free coffee is also offered at lounge next to front desk.
10min walk from MRT CHUNGSHAN station, bus stops are near by, very convenient location. Manager and staffs are friendly and helpful.

The staff members at this hotel are incredibly helpful and sweet. They went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay. Highly recommend for excellent service!

Lots of dinning options around the hotel. However, the free wifi didn't work most of the time.

I like that property is spacial and have other convenient place, didn't like that the property control how many people can come up to the room.

"Terrible Experience - Not Recommended"
This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Nearly everything in the hotel comes with an additional charge, including basic items like water and extra towels. The checkout time is at 11 AM, and there is no flexibility at all with this policy.
Even more disappointing, there is no air conditioning at night in the rooms. The staff brought us two fans and explained that the hotel has centralized air conditioning, which they turn off at night. This left us with no air conditioning in our room during the hottest part of the day.
The building is extremely old, and you have to climb a set of stairs before reaching the elevator, which is very inconvenient for anyone carrying heavy luggage.
Furthermore, after midnight, the reception desk closes, and the doors are locked. If you return late, you have to ring the doorbell and wait for the staff to come and open the door.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are much better options available in Taiwan that offer better service, facilities, and value for money.
“最差的酒店体验，绝对不推荐”
这是我经历过的最差的酒店。几乎酒店的每一项服务都需要额外收费，连水和额外毛巾这些基本物品也不例外。退房时间是早上11点，完全没有任何灵活性。
更令我失望的是，房间里晚上没有空调。工作人员给我们带来了两个风扇，并告诉我们酒店使用的是中央空调，但他们晚上会关闭中央空调，这导致我们房间根本没有空调。
酒店本身非常陈旧，而且在进入电梯之前，必须先爬上一段楼梯。对于携带重行李的旅客来说，这非常不方便。
此外，午夜12点后，酒店前台关闭，门会锁上。如果你在这个时间回来，你必须按门铃，等待工作人员来开门。
我绝对不推荐这家酒店。在台湾，你可以找到许多提供更好服务、更好设施和更高性价比的酒店。
「最悪なホテル体験、絶対におすすめしません」
今までで最悪のホテル体験でした。ホテル内のほとんどのサービスは追加料金が必要で、ミネラルウォーターや追加のタオルなど、基本的なアイテムにも料金がかかります。チェックアウトは午前11時で、この時間には全く柔軟性がありません。
さらに、部屋には夜間にエアコンがありません。スタッフが2台のファンを持ってきて、ホテルは中央空調を使用しているが、夜間は空調をオフにしていると言われました。そのため、最も暑い時間帯に冷房が効かない部屋に泊まることになりました。
建物自体も非常に古く、エレベーターに乗る前に階段を登らなければならず、大きな荷物を持っている場合は非常に不便です。
さらに、12時を過ぎるとフロントが閉まり、ホテルのドアもロックされます。遅くに帰ると、インターホンを押してスタッフが来てドアを開けるのを待たなければなりません。
このホテルは絶対におすすめしません。台湾にはもっと良いサービスと施設を提供しているホテルがたくさんあります。

excellent service

Nice room, very clean and neat but still can smell 2nd hand smokes even thought it’s clean.

I really enjoyed my 7-night stay over the Christmas period at the Tokyo International Hotel. Erick (the manager) and his team were all super friendly and helpful, and almost all spoke very good English. Although the hotel caters mainly for Japanese tourists, who account for around 90% of the guests, the excellent breakfast (7am to 10am) comprised a wide enough range of options, including (but not limited to) juice, fruit, cereal, toast, coffee, eggs, bacon and sausages. My room was clean and comfortable, with a Japanese style bidet toilet. Water from the shower was always hot. Although my room faced the street, I experienced no noise disturbance.

The hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from entrance/exit 3 to the nearest MRT station (Zhongshan) on the red line, just one stop from Taipei main train station. I found the area around the hotel safe and there are plenty of restaurants, convenience stores and massage and other shops nearby.

When on duty, Erick was always interested in helping me with my plans for the day and made a number of useful suggestions. As a solo traveller, I appreciated the level of personal attention and warmth of the staff, who clearly look after their guests very well. In my case that included arranging a private transfer back to the airport and providing a coffee and a sandwich in lieu of breakfast as I had to check out before that started.

Overall, I cannot fault my stay and would highly recommend the hotel to others. Many thanks again to Erick and his lovely team!

The staff was absolutely wonderful and truly made us feel welcome.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for the Taipei Marathon weekend. Erick and his staff made sure everything was perfect for my stay and I was blown away by the level of service I received. For example, the morning of the race I realized I needed to get to City Hall for the start, but the MRT was not running yet and it would be a very long walk. But the night shift staff member was so kind and she made sure I was able to get a taxi and I made it on time to the Taipei Marathon.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the shower worked with no issues. Breakfast was buffet style and I had definitely had a complete meal.

I will definitely be staying at this hotel again in my future visits to Taipei!
