Pros:

meals provided by the hotel as part of the conference were very good; the "refreshment break"selections were very good

Cons:

We were invovled in a conference but we were set in a room far, far away in the extreme distance from the conference rooms. The staff offered us a closer room for $$$$ (this hotel is expansive thru many buildings)
One day of the conference: the hotel set out the same meal choices for lunch and dinner
Cost for our stay despite a "conference discounted" room was pretty hefty

Great location in downtown Columbia and a beautiful property
Pros:

Located by the convention center in Columbia, the Hilton is a large hotel located in downtown. The property is beautiful and well-maintained . The rooms are small but very functional. There is a desk with the ability to charge devices. There is a large shower and a nice size counter. There is a small fridge, coffee maker and water in the room. There are 2 building with a skybridge connecting them. A fitness center is available in both buildings. The fitness center is small but well equipped with strength and cardiac equipment. The size of the property can be challenging and sometimes hard to know which amenity is in which building. There was no food on property after 9 even in the bar. There are many restaurants on High street and lots of beautiful walks to see Ohio State, North Market and the Ohio state buildings along the river.

Comfortable, Quiet, Well Run
Pros:

I was here for Anthrohio and while I'm not a big fan of replacing tubs with shower stalls, I can overlook that because the rest of the stay was so nice. The elevators are well maintained and run consistently. The rooms are very comfortable and well kept. There are so many options just in the hotel for eating, and so many good places a very short walk away. The front desk is always super helpful. The one big issue is the parking, which they can't really help, but it would be nice if they labeled a loading/unloading zone for Tower 402 rather than it all being valet spots.

The Fee Debacle
Pros:

I didn't really have an issue with the Property per se, this was the Second time we had our Convention on the property, it works out well for that.

Cons:

What I didn't like was that when I booked through this website it showed me what the total cost would be including taxes and so we split it up amongst the four people staying there. But when I got to the hotel to check in they ended up charging my card more than what the rate was which turned my bank account negative because they charged an extra almost $500 in incidental fees. What they claimed was potential damage coverage even though we haven't even started the convention. It seems to me this is something that should have been done after the event. They had our credit card on file. Why pre-charge for it. I went to discuss with them at the front desk and they would not work with us on this fee. Booking.com should check into the properties that they are booking for and verify accuracy of pricing.

The valet service at the Columbus Downtown Hilton is by far a favorite service for me. They manage a high traffic volume and treat customers individually with high respect and consideration for their needs. They are highly respected and valued in my travel needs

Staff was very understanding of my concerns with the loud noise and they gave me Hilton Honors points.
Pros:

Great location & enjoyed the on site bars/restaurants. Staff was very friendly.

Cons:

Too loud. Can hear TVs and conversations through the walls. Dogs barking, etc. I have traveled a lot and stayed many places, but this by far was not a very quiet or peaceful stay. Dogs should NOT be allowed in hotels of this caliber unless it is a mandatory service dog.
