Amazing location.
Amazing hotel.
Sleeping in a place with almost 800 years of history is an experience by itself.
The peacocks surrounding the hotel are beautiful, and my 3 year old daughter loved them.
It’s not for everyone, but if you like staying in a castle, it’s an amazing experience and a beautiful place.
We will definitely come back!
Our room was not cleaned. When I asked about it, I was told that I needed to inform staff that the room required cleaning; however, there was no sign in the bedroom indicating this, and no one informed us of such a requirement. I raised a complaint, and the staff resolved the issue. Additionally, the kettle in my room was broken.

The front of house staff weren't very welcoming and warm.
They only did just enough to check us in.
The hotel grounds needed attention....yes there were 30 acres but not accessible.
The promised maps weren't available, and there was no compromise to help us find our way.

The building and grounds were stunning.
I thought the dining area needs improvement was very small for the size of the hotel. Choice of meals improvement. Bar area was very small due to that we didn’t stay for a drink and went out.
Large cosy room with friendly helpful staff
Had an amazing stay at Ruthin Castle.. Had a room with a roll top bath. Bed was comfy and huge!
Breakfast was perfect by the roaring fire and plenty of choice.
The castle is stunning with lots of peacocks strutting around.
Went in the gym and spa. Spa has one steam room and a sauna (no pool) but well worth going to. Can't wait to stay here again 🙂
Only negative was not any clothes hooks in the gym and changing room of the spa however plenty of lockers.
The room was very comfortable, staff were very welcoming and friendly. There was a good selection of food for breakfast and the evening meal was exceptional.
There was very little we didn't like but the air conditioning unit kicked in every now and then making it cooler than I would like and noisy.
