We stayed in your Presidential Suite from 5th to 8th December 2025, and subsequently extended our stay in a Deluxe Room from 8th to 9th December. This stay was meant to be a special celebration of our wedding anniversary, but the experience was extremely disappointing, distressing and far below the standards advertised for your most premium room category, The Presidential Suite with Balcony (Now named Executive room with Balcony)
Major Issues Faced:
1. Severe and Persistent Water Supply & Pressure Problems:
Immediately upon arrival, we noticed no water pressure in the taps, when my wife was unable to flush the toilet. Housekeeping temporarily adjusted/fixed the motor, but the issue persisted.
Throughout the stay, the water pressure continuously fluctuated between extremely low and very high, and at times water supply stopped entirely, preventing us from flushing, hand washing in the sink, or taking a shower.
We were unable to take a proper shower for all three days/nights in our Presidential Suite and repeatedly had to call reception/housekeeping to restore water supply especially every morning. During every shower my wife was panicking hoping that the water will not stop or hot water will not run out. Water used to spill everywhere from the hand shower on to the bathroom floor due to frequent/sudden pressure fluctuations causing a slip hazard.
2. Jacuzzi & Amenities Unusable:
We could not use the Jacuzzi because the geyser capacity was too small to fill it with hot water. Based on discussions with your Manager, Ms. Prajotka Tamang, it became clear that the management was aware of hot water issues but obviously has failed to address it. This directly contradicts the advertised amenities included in this Presidential suit and your own slogan " Exceptional value, Exceptional services".
Ms. Prajotka offered bucketed hot water as a workaround, which was completely unreasonable and unacceptable for a Presidential Suite costing this amount, and also would have compromised our privacy and comfort.
The balcony seating cushions were covered in fungus, making the balcony unusable. Even after complaining, they were only partially cleaned.
We paid for facilities and comfort that we never received.
3. Multiple Issues With Cleanliness & Hygiene:
A dirty chipped mug was provided in the room (photo submitted to reception).
My wife found hair inside a juice jar at breakfast on 6th December.
Later the same evening, she found hair inside her roti dough at dinner, after which she was unable to continue her meal.
4. Poor Support & Delayed Service:
The room blower we requested did not work for two hours on 1st day and was replaced only after repeated follow-ups, finally arriving around 10:30 PM.
Every issue required constant calling and visit by housekeeping, adding to the stress during what was supposed to be a peaceful anniversary stay.
Throughout our conversation, Manager Ms. Prajotka Tamang acknowledged the severity of the water issue and inability to resolve it during our stay—even if approved by management.
We strongly believe that the Presidential Suite has been knowingly and repeatedly sold despite major unresolved faults, which amounts to misrepresentation and cheating of customers.
Refund Request:
Given the extremely poor experience, unusable facilities, health and hygiene concerns, and emotional distress caused during an important personal occasion, we firmly request a minimum 50% refund of the total booking cost, if not a full refund for the dates 5th–8th December.
If immediate resolution is not provided, we will be left with no choice but to escalate the matter further.
This experience was extremely disappointing and far below even basic hospitality standards, let alone what is expected from probably one of the highest-priced room category in your hotel chain.
I emailed above (most of it) to the GRM@Summit and posted above review on different platforms over 2 weeks ago but strangely have disappeared and no response from the mgmnt till today. Sending this review again on 29/12/25
Location, Atmosphere, Rooms ans value for money was great. Staffs were cordial helpful and accommodating. Great stay. Will love to come back again.
I had a wonderful stay at Summit West Gate. The staff were extremely courteous, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making the stay very relaxing. The location is convenient and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is warm and welcoming. Excellent service and great hospitality—highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers. I would definitely love to stay here again!
Nice stay for three nights at summit west gate Posada. Well mannered, cooperative and polite staff. View of kanchanganga from balcony of our room was beautiful. The only thing to be suggested is repeatative menu of dinner needs to be changed.
Rest things ok. Would like to visit again with family.
It was our 1st trip we were in thought that what happens if hotel is not good. But after reaching we realise that hotel was very nice awesome. Staff were very cooperative. They dont charge unnecessary for heater and all. They provided it complementary. Very nice stay.
Went to Summit West Gate Posada to celebrate my 1st year wedding anniversary with my wife and I am extremely happy about the choice. This hotel is rare in Darjeeling - the ambience, food quality and taste, staff behaviour and professionalism all are according to standards. Would like to especially thank Bhumika madam from the reception who helped us have a great stay right from when I booked the stay. Definitely looking forward to visit again soon.

Very nice and clean place with helpful staff. We were here in November and could see the beautiful kanchanjanga from our balcony.
I stayed at the west inn and overall it was a great experience. Have got a president suite and the treatment was exceeded expectations.
Room rent was a little expensive but the staffs treatment was justifying.

The stay was comfortable and we enjoyed a lot.Room was clean and well maintained .Food was tasty and delicious.Restaurant had a very nice ambience.Their Tea Boutique is a very nice place to enjoy and relax having view of Kanchanjanga.The staffs were truly great and gave great hospitality. Bhumika and Prajakta from reception and Sawan and Aditya from housekeeping are worth mentioning for their service.

We had out stay planned for 2 days and my experience was wonderful . The room was neat and clean and the food was delicious.The hospitality of the staff makes this place even more amazing and worth staying . Would like to mention Aman ,Ayus and Ricky from restaurant and Renu,Romia and Sushma from housekeeping headed by Sawan.

Food and service was excellent. Location was a bit far from the mall. Room was well maintained and tidy. Overall had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend to friends and relatives. Staff i would like to mention Repbommit and Riya from restaurant and Renu ,Sushma and salin from housekeeping gave great experience.
Stay at the hotel was good...the staff here is very polite and courteous and very helpful too. Food was good.Thukpa was exceptional. Altogether our stay was a happy one.thankyou.
