The location is good with beautiful views
This is not a 5 star hotel. The staff is not great, the rooms are regular size, the furniture and decorative items were defective, the drawers were dirty, the breakfast is not a buffet and has only a few options on the menu.
Everything
Nothing
I had a wonderful stay at the St. Regis Chicago. The room size and bathroom was incredible. They were booked out the entire weekend, but even still, the service was top-tier. Will definitely stay here again
Location, facilities
Attention to little details was lacking
For example we had asked for ice to be brought up when we checked in and called after waiting an hour and finally got it in another 45 minutes.
We had requested more coffee pods after lunch to replace those we’d used in the morning and they were never brought until we asked again the next morning.
The internet charges was never taken off my bill ( I am a bonvoy member) even after asking multiple times. $15/day for internet seems ridiculous when you are paying $800 a might for your room.
The staff were very nice but you seemed understaffed to be able to respond as quickly as you’d expect from a premium hotel.
Marriott Titanium.
Weekend staycation with my wife.
Pros:
- Staff: all professional and courteous.
- Room: our suite was spacious and clean.
- Restaurants: the Italian restaurant was excellent. The Japanese restaurant was also excellent for breakfast and lunch.
- Gym: modern and has plenty of equipment to get a good workout.
- Pool: was great with great views.
- Car service: a great amenity and was able to take advantage to get around to other places as it's in the off-beaten path.
Cons:
- Staff: may be nitpicky, but while everyone was professional and courteous, it wasn't as warm and the staff wasn't as anticipatory vs other St Regis properties I've stayed at. I don't think this St Regis has a butler as well.
- Room layout/design: this St Regis was designed to be a condo, but was converted to a hotel due to business decisions. With that said, the rooms don't feel as "luxurious" as I expect from a St Regis. It instead feels like a very nice bachelor pad setting.
Recognize that my cons are nitpicky, but I think they are worth mentioning for a stay at the level of a St Regis. Regardless, would stay again.
They charged me for the room food that I didn’t take.
Beautiful property and outstanding staff. Excellent customer experience. Grateful for upgrade to river facing room!
Amazing views, room was very comfortable and quiet, and the location was right down the street from the Magnificent Mile.
When checking in our room wasn’t ready. Check-in was at 4:00 pm. Another platinum member opted for late checkout at 3:00 pm. They made us wait 20 minutes in the lobby and didn’t offer us anything other than water. When you pay $1K per night, one would expect the room to be ready and better service.
So just stayed at the St Regis Chicago for 2 nights and generally a good place to stay.
Made to feel welcome upon arrival especially by Evelyn (hope I’ve got her name right) who couldn’t do enough for us during the whole stay - she was amazing.
Upgraded to a nice suite without asking upon arrival although when we asked for a higher floor, we were given an even better one!
Room was immaculate, clean and well proportioned.
Bathroom vast and bed really comfortable.
Breakfast was served in the restaurant and although it was run by an external company, the food and service were very good.
The hotel is in a good location overlooking the river and close to various landmarks and boat trips (well worth doing the architecture tours via boat)
My only negative is we felt it was a more business orientated hotel rather than the luxury St Regis used to be synonymous with.
Rooms and corridors felt bare with no art work etc and it all felt a little impersonal.
I had the pleasure of enjoying the spa at the St. Regis in Chicago --- what an amazing experience! It is opulent and posh without being pretentious. Their attentiveness is the epitome of service that's rarely found here in the U.S. Services are not cheap for a massage or facial (of which they offer many types to choose from) but it's worth every penny. There's also an indoor pool and gorgeous outside deck (weather permitting) for relaxing in the state-of-the-art facilities.
Stayed here for one night. While the hotel is located downtown, the area isn’t the most convenient — you’ll still need to rely on rideshares to get around, and waiting times can be long due to Lower Wacker Drive traffic. The hotel itself is relatively small, with only 11 floors (the top floor being the restaurant), so don’t expect the same sweeping city views you’d get at places like the Ritz-Carlton Chicago.
For a property that’s only about two years old, the room condition was surprisingly worn. I found hair and a dirty stain on the minibar countertop, which was disappointing for a St. Regis. Housekeeping responded quickly to reclean the area, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, there was also a constant clicking noise behind the TV when the lights were off — we ended up switching rooms at 1 a.m. because of it. No suite upgrade was offered, and we were even downgraded from a river-view king to a park-view two-queen room.
We also tried to use the house car, but it was always occupied and, unlike the Waldorf Astoria Chicago (I knew it because I saw it was picking up guest from this hotel lol), it can’t pick guests up from other locations — only drop-offs are allowed.
On the positive side, the staff were absolutely wonderful and deserve full recognition. Evelynn from the Front Desk and Curtis from Housekeeping were especially attentive and kind. Their professionalism truly stood out and made a difficult stay much better.
Overall, this wasn’t the level of experience I’d expect from a St. Regis property. Given the price point — around $1,000 a night — there are stronger luxury options in Chicago, such as The Langham or Four Seasons.
There are no words. Just the Best place when I need to feel special. The valet and bell staff and the butler staff just make it feel like you are the only person that matters.
My husband, 85 year old dad, sister and hubby and one of my daughters met downtown to stay at the St. Regis as a bucket list hotel for my dad. The hotel is so beautiful with amazing views. It's a perfect location for so many Chicago activities: Millenium Park, architectural boat tour, Second City, Willis Tower)! We had the chance to eat dinner at Tre Dita and then sit in the bar - both were wonderful. We enjoyed breakfast at Miru which has a killer rooftop view. HUGE should out to Concierge Mark Kraemer, who went above and beyond multiple times during our weekend and other staff members who made this stay a once in a lifetime experience! We can't thank you enough and hope to be back soon!
Stayed at the St Regis for a family event. The hotel was very nice and the staff were amazing. We had top-notch service from the front desk staff, bellhop, and room service. The rooms were wonderful, full of nice touches with the closet and well-appointed bathroom stocked with wonderful bath products. Very comfortable bed. We enjoyed using the gym (amazing views) and the pool. The building is very architecturally interesting and very accessible to running trails along the waterfront. It is toward the end of the river where it meets Lake Michigan so not as close to some attractions but a reasonable walk gets you to some riverfront restaurants and there are amenities (CVS, etc) nearby. I've stayed at some fine hotels around the world and I will put this experience up with those in terms of comfort, style, and service.
You ruined our night. Awful awful.
Want a nice shower. No direction. Scaled myself. Froze. Shot from overhead. Wtf. Joke.
Lights. wtf. Need engineer degree.
Terrible.
This was such a special trip.
Ruined thanks.
