Pros:

Very very pleased. Found the Royal super-nice... lux, comfortable, and a good night. The genial welcome, good breakfast and good price were appreciated. Location is central, and the shops, restaurants and sights are steps away.

The beds were super comfy and the breakfast plentiful.

A great base to explore the city with very helpful hosts. Our host Carlos had a number of excellent recommendations he texted us.

Het hotel heeft een bescheiden aantal kamers in een sfeervol oud herenhuis bij het centrum van de stad met houten vloeren, plafonds met sierpleistering en toch het comfort van airco en een fijne douche. Er is een kleine gezellige ontbijtruimte en het personeel doet alle moeite om het je naar de zin te maken. Wij voelden ons er echt welkome gasten.

A hospedagem foi excelente,não é um hotel ,é um alojamento muito lindo que fica em um casarão antigo com muito conforto e bom gosto.As suites são espaçosas com um amplo banheiro.O café da manhã é servido em uma sala própria, com muitos itens tudo muito gostoso.O atendimento dos stafs é excelente,especialmente o Carlos que nos deu muitas dicas e sugestoes de passeios e restaurantes,assim como a Mariana que foi super atenciosa conosco.Só temos a agradecer e indicar o Don José aos nossos amigos. Voltaremos com certeza.

It was a beautiful building and the staff seemed nice. The breakfast was very good. The rooms did not have phones, the doors locked with a key only. The staff was not there from 6 in the evening until 8 in the morning which felt very unsafe to me. The beds were hard and awful, the shower and bathroom was very small and water leaked all over from the shower.

Tivemos à agradável surpresa de estar em Guimarães na Festa do Pinheiro! Não somos de ir a festas, ainda mais essa que se desenrola durante a madrugada. Kkk Mas da sacada do Dom José podemos apreciar os vários tambores da Festa. O Carlos foi super atencioso no check in (inclusive nos arrumou um frigobar que ficou no quarto durante toda nossa estadia. O café da manhã é muito bom. Tem de tudo um pouquinho. O Hotel é pequeno, apenas 9 quartos. É um casarão reformado com muito bom gosto!!!! Um pátio interno muito belo. E a 600 metros do Paço dos Duques e do Castelo. Muito bem localizado. Um mercado a uns 100 metros a esquerda e um Pingo Doce a uns 300m a direita (seguindo o fluxo da rua de manhã única). Fizemos até o passeio de Teleférico (super indico!) lá encima é muito lindo! O restaurante Chalés da Penha é perfeito!!!!!

Uma agradável experiência. Eles são supersolícitos. Ao chegar, fui muito bem recebida e passaram um tanto de informações sobre a cidade, pontos turísticos e até restaurantes. Trata-se de uma pousada, com quartos muito bem estruturados, um banheiro com ótima ducha. A tudo que se dispõe, apenas o travesseiro, achei que deixou a desejar, pelo que promete. No mais, expectativas atendidas.
