Yunju Hotel Beijing Yonghe Palace Guijie Siheyuan

The room was clean and had a nice old-fashioned atmosphere, which was great. Breakfast was delicious too. Being close to the station was convenient, but since it's tucked away in a back alley, the location was a bit hard to find. Plus, it's a dark, residential area, so it might feel a little scary for a woman traveling alone.

A decent hotel to stay.

The address of the hotel was wrong on hotels.com. For that reason we missed a paid night at the hotel and used seven hours to look for the hotel. We found the hotel over 2 kilometer away from the adress hotel.com had shared. We called the hotel many times without any reply while searching. When we arrived the hotel spoke poor English and we needed 3 staff for them to understand. We ended up paying for 2 nights and only had a 12 hours stay. Super, super disappointed that no one takes responsibility for a wrong address and not answering the phone after several calls. We would not come back.

Clean, modern room. Small but very well designed use of space and technology. Providing new water and fizzy drink bottles every day is a nice touch for the forgetful. Lots of restaurants round about. Nicely lit and decorated. Comfortable bed.

Charming hotel, newly renovated in the heart of a Hutong. This was my first time visiting Beijing, and my stay at the hotel contributed to make my experience memorable.
The room was new and clean, I loved walking around the streets of the hotel, it felt so authentic.

Do NOT use Expedia for international bookings. Property offers a lot more flexibility and better service via its own site or other platforms (I had good experience with Ctrip for China).
Expedia prevented us from checking out early although hotel manager agreed at no charge. Expedia made false promises on timeline and resolution, wasted our time and added stress during our travels.
Hotel itself is great in service and location. Close to lots of popular restaurants offering authentic Chinese fare. Laundry service is very handy.
Staff spoke very little English, but guests can generally help to translate.

It is a clean nice hotel

The location is great—in a Hutong, near a subway, and lots of restaurants. It felt like the hotel wasn’t quite ready for business. Our sink plumbing leaked immediately upon arrival. They forgot to attach the pipe below. We were immediately moved to a different room that smelled like smoke and had a dirty couch. The TV channels never quite worked. The bathroom and shower are nice, but offer no privacy. We were going to return for two nights upon our return to Beijing to fly out, but we decided to cancel and stay at a different hotel.
