Hotel Quinta Bolivar

The sink in the bathroom was tiny. Difficult not to spill water.
I know it didn’t say in the room description, but I really missed having a teakettle.

Esperaba habitaciones más próximas a las de las fotos. Pero aún así fue funcional la experiencia en el hotel.

Único ponto ruim é que a pousada fica em um rua estreita que o Uber não para na frente. Você desce um rua anterior e sobe. (Se tiver com malas e o pé torcido, como foi o meu caso, é ruim)

Falta de ventilação nos quartos e banheiros pequenos.

Havia uma mulher pela manhã falando mtu alto proxima dos quartos onde estávamos dormindo! Isso atrapalhou um pouco mas não estragou em nada a viagem !

Even though the the hotel itself is located in a quite street, I could hear all the noise from the main street and the other streets in the neighborhood, including starting at 2 am every night, the garbage collection trucks. The building is clearly improvised and built by non-professionals, at least the part the of the hotel that contains the rooms. The construction is a simple brick structure with a metal roof, which provides zero thermal insulation or sound proofing. Even worse, the roof amplifies the sound of the rain and the floors, which lack any carpeting and amplify the sounds of every step and carry over any vibration, even between the farthest ends of the hotel. Moreover, there is not walls between the rooms, but instead a (single) glass wall and a very poorly made and installed door. This glass wall is covered by blinds for privacy, and being single pane window also offers no sound proofing. So, I could hear when any guest was showering, their whatsapp notifications as well as those of the staff. Most rooms lack windows, so do not expect any natural light. The bathroom lacks any ventilation except for a never cleaned, loud and ill-suited little fan. There is no closet in the rooms and nowhere to hang any pieces of clothes.

Usually buildings are built into different fire sections or compartments, so fires would not spread from one section to the other. This building lacks any such compartmentation. In an event of a fire, the smoke and flames would spread rapidly in the hotel, which also lacks any fire alarm system. There is also only one entrance and exit, and no evacuation plan(s).

My guess is that this hotel was built by someone who gave it his best, as is evident by the decoration in the lobby, but that person was neither an engineer nor an expert in hotel design. That is how we ended up with such a poor structure and poorly designed rooms.

Las instalaciones no estaban del todo limpias, un 7

Nos tocó en una habitación para 5 fuera del edificio principal y el acceso era bastante incómodo por una calle empedrada y saliendo a un callejón así como demasiado rústico para lo que esperábamos la habitación. El baño, lo bajos que eran los techos y la falta de espacio de almacenamiento (algún perchero o algo) fue lo que menos nos gustó. Muy fría la habitación.

The location is not quite what we expected however there was an amazing restaurant right next door!
