Lovely old building, full of character, set in very nice grounds, lots of green.
The staff are very warm, friendly and helpful.
Super comfortable bed and plenty clean towels, changed regularly.
Nothing really. I knew what I was booking, and that's what I had.
Peaceful and quiet, comfy bed will book again
Quiet location.
It was a trek to the room with all our baggage. Pleased there was a fridge we could use in the kitchen, could have been a bit cleaner though. No view from our window, we could hear some turkeys though! The hall was convenient for the 2 nights emergency accommodation we needed on a very late bank holiday weekend booking.
Linen and towels were clean - thank goodness! - and staff friendly. They like dogs too!
We paid over £100 for a shared bathroom, which was not made clear on the reservation page - very misleading! The bathroom was dirty, toilet roll holder falling off and no free toiletries except a shared bottle of hand soap and body wash! The kettle in the room was still full of the last person’s water! We paid £25 for our dog which I think was ironic due to the cleanliness not being up to scratch to start. Reception is more like a hostel feel. Building is beautiful and full of character but the owners need to spend some TLC updating. It’s miles away from anywhere and whilst friendly, the person who greeted us had no idea about the surrounding area where we could get food etc, as we had an evening arrival. Unfortunately our sleep wasn’t great either, as the bed springs were ‘sprung’ and the people in other rooms felt like they were in your room - you could hear everything. If you’re paying £40-£50 a night fair enough, but… sadly, very disappointed.
Fighting at property hairs in bed people smoking in rooms
Safe, spacious & clean, lovely garden to sit out
Not easy to find but once there was comfortable did what it said on tin
Better signposting tidy up a bit outside
Väldigt oorganiserat , kändes som spökstad
Staff were great ,room was clean and big nice area faultless really
Would be better if rooms had a shower
Dirty. Expensive for budget.
Shared bathroom which was unclear on the ad. Dirty bath and toilet. Room was okay
Friendly staff, lovely location and rooms.
No shower
Lovely little hotel we would t hesitate to stay in again.
We had a lovely welcome on arrival, and the room was clean and functional. Yes, it’s dated and parts are not ideal but the owner is obviously trying to improve as and when they can and responds to all feedback positively.
I think the descriptions of the rooms etc could do to be improved just for clarity, but it’s a minor issue.
I’ll definitely be back in the future.
Nothing
No staff on arrival despite ringing the bell. We asked a resident who was a 17yr old who was housed there as he was homeless to be told the staff had gone home. We eventually found a number which connected to another hotel in Kettering. They gave us a key code which didn't work. 1 hour later we got into a room. This was classed as a deluxe room but there was nothing there to warrant this description. It was dirty and it smelt of a certain drug that is smoked. My wife started to have an asthmatic episode and had to use medication to suppress this. Due to this a refund was requested and was promptly refused. We were the given a room that was a superior king room. Well I would hate to see a standard king if this was superior. Being late we accepted our fate. What a mistake. No pillow cases on two pillows. There was cobwebs on the lights and in the corners. The bath taps weren't securely fitted to the bath and were twisting when you turned them on. The toilet wasn't fitted properly to the floor so it wobbled and was leaking at the rear. The toilet roll holder was loose. There was plaster missing on some of the walls especially by the door. The bathroom had sloping ceilings and my wife who is 5'5 had to stoop to use the sink let alone the bath. The next morning we were delighted to see the bit of dried what looked like excrement by the light switch. What a lovely touch Plas Bellin Hall. We won't be back.
Very helpful staff and great location.
Basic but exactly what I expected.
Nothing.
The location, bedding and towels were clean. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room.
The toilet smelled of urine, just a bath, no shower, you can hear people from the adjoining room like they're with you, very unpleasant smell in the room and surroundings, uncomfortable soft bed. The strong outside lamp was shining through the window. The radiator wasn't working. We know it was cheap, but we'd have better comfort in a tent.
