We would rate this hotel a 9, or even a 10.
The staff were extremely polite and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. They kindly changed our room upon request and even surprised us with a birthday celebration in the room, which was a lovely touch.
The views from the hotel are absolutely beautiful, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained.
The only downside was the slow service in the restaurant when ordering food. However, this seems to be quite common across Sri Lanka.
We would also like to mention that we only discovered the availability of spa and massage services on our last day. There was no information about these services in the room—only the restaurant menu. It would be very helpful if brochures or details about all hotel services, including spa treatments, were available in the rooms.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Gorgeous hotel! Would recommend
Pros:

Property was gorgeous, especially the roof top pool and cafe. Room size is generous and the lake view room had a lovely balcony/ view.

Cons:

The staff were…. I don’t know how to put it. They would linger around us a lot and ask us to go sit outside when we were happy to stand or sit inside while waiting for a coffee or to check in etc. For example on check in we were an hour early so we were happy to (and confirmed in advance) we would just drop our bags and go off but they wouldn’t just let us leave and they kept insisting the room was almost ready and we just sit down outside and look at the view. We mentioned we had been in the car for 3 hours and were only here for one night so we’re itching to get out and explore the city and they persisted that we wait, and then we waited for about 35 / 40 mins and had to have a somewhat forced room tour/ explanation. It was all a bit odd! But that aside, the hotel was gorgeous, the walk down and up the hill to town was great, it was fab to be able to walk up the hill and be out of the chaos of the city.

Loved everything. Brilliant hotel just outside the hustle and bustle of Kandy but a 5 min Tuk Tuk from the centre. True relaxation!

Disappointing staff who tried to get extra money out of us
Pros:

Breakfast was ok - not very extensive but good enough

Cons:

Very disappointed to have been forced to pay extra for coffee during breakfast even though we'd already paid for breakfast!! They also tried to make us pay extra for a second room key which we didn't have as we were only given one room key on check in. Trying to add lots of unused extras onto the bill at check out led to a really disappointing end to our stay.

This place is a jewel within Kandy. The views are utterly spectacular & staff beyond outstanding.
Pros:

The location is stunning with some of the best views of Kandy from the hotel. The hotel design is superb. The staff are outstanding, food was ok, and facilities excellent.

Cons:

I think food could be improved, with more classic Sri Lankan dishes on offer. The bathroom had a funny odour.
