Wonderful hotel for Kandy stay.
Pros:

This really is the perfect hotel to stay in Kandy. Just up a hill with stunning views over the lake. Is therefore in quiet location but short walk down the hill to a cut through straight to the lake and a lovely walk along the lake to the temple. It is modern and spotless with friendly staff and a very good breakfast and real coffee. It also has a stunning roof top infinity pool with views across the lake

The best accommodation on our trip around Sri Lanka
Pros:

The hotel is located in an excellent location - a hill above the lake next to which there is a temple. The view is fantastic, especially from the side where the lake is. The rooftop pool bar is stunning. Breakfast is also at a high level.

Cons:

We have no complaints.

Fantastic hotel with spectacular views over Kandy
Pros:

We really enjoyed our 2 nights staying at The Trees hotel. The hotel is perched up above Kandy overlooking the lake and temple but only a short stroll down the hill to the lake and centre. The hotel is very smart and the rooftop infinity pool and views from it are spectacular! Our room was very spacious and well lit with a superb balcony with lake view. The staff and food was high quality too. Visits to the temple and botanical gardens completed our stay.

Pros:

The views from the rooftop bar and pool were incredible! It's an oasis just a short walk from Kandy's bustling centre. Our room was clean, modern and comfortable, and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Spectacular hotel
Pros:

One of the most stunningly designed hotels I have stayed in. High above Kandy the views are spectacular. The infinity pool is quite something. On arrival you are greeted with flowers and tea in cup made from coconut shell. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast was buffet style and offer an egg station and plenty of tea & coffee. We ate in the hotel restaurant once and in Kandy once (Nuwara cafe/restaurant). If you happy to walk and don’t mind a hill back up, the hotel is only 20 mins down to the lake.
Special mention to the team who helped us obtain passport photos at a local photo studio to enable us to extend our visa for another month.
We wish we had stayed one or two more days.

Relaxed stay in the hectic from Kandy
Pros:

The beautiful hotel and surrounding (nature with lake view) on arrival we get a purple lotus bloom and a cup of tea (we didn’t like the tea) Room was very clean and housekeeping made from towels a nice lotus flower on our bed🥰

Cons:

After entering the room the keycard was not working as alternative we get a normal key instead of fixing the key, safety box was not working must come somebody to fix it. When we go in the afternoon to the swimming pool after a 4.5 hour taxi drive there are only 8 sunloungers which were all occupied. Not a big problem all these points but not 5 stars

Modern and clean with easy access to the sites
Pros:

The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. Monkeys on the balcony entertained us!
The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The pool was much smaller than anticipated and there were only 7 sun beds which wasn’t enough.
The food we had by the pool was very poor.

Very comfortable modern hotel
Pros:

Beautiful, modern calm hotel.
Amazing roof top pool and bar.
Very comfy bed.
The staff were great.
We stayed here after 2 weeks in Sri Lanka and it was the first time we had a buffet ( pick your own) breakfast and it was great. Omelette/waffle station, perfect.
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Cons:

Every month there is a Buddhist holiday ( I think it coincides with full moon)? You cannot get any alcoholic drinks that day and we were unaware. I was really looking forward to a cocktail after 6 hours driving.
Not the hotel fault but just to make other travellers aware.

Tranquil and Luxurious- Lovely Team 🪷
Pros:

The Trees is well located, close enough to walk to the lake and town, but higher up which creates a feeling of space and tranquillity, away from the hubbub. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean with good quality white linen, a view of the lake would have been preferable but perhaps you have to select that on booking. The foyer is impressive and on each floor there are large beautiful planters - like a little indoor garden which I saw being watered in the morning. Tea and a lotus flower 🪷 on arrival, a lovely touch. Thanks 🙏

Cons:

Fine for us, but the uphill walk back from town is a tad steep and may not be suitable for some. I did it twice and felt like I’d done a leg workout the day after we left.
