The main positive is the location, which is convenient. There is limited paid parking available on site, although there are several cheaper parking options nearby.
First, I was contacted on the day of my arrival, while I was travelling, and asked to make a deposit before I could receive the entry code. I was driving on the motorway during a heatwave in July and had to pull over to make the payment. By the time I managed to call the property, it was around 6pm and the staff had already left. I tried calling several times, but nobody answered and the calls went to voicemail. I eventually left a voicemail and sent a message through Booking.com, which they responded to.
The poor network coverage in Newquay made the situation even more difficult, and I found the whole process extremely stressful, particularly after a long journey. I feel the deposit requirement and entry instructions should have been communicated well in advance rather than on the day of arrival.
Secondly, the room had a very unpleasant and persistent smell coming from the toilet. I reported this to the staff the following day and was assured that they would look into it, but unfortunately nothing was done. The smell was very bad and significantly affected my stay.

It has a great location for the town and the beaches. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The price was good incomparable to other accommodations.
Unfortunately my room was uncomfortably hot when I the weather was warmer. It is an important issue which the should be rectified.
Staff were really lovely and helpful. it's a fantastic location for the town and for surfing/beaches. Comfy bed, clean room, nice and quiet. Free coffee was a bonus and helpful to have a little fridge to put a few bits in. Lots of places to sit and work/take calls for a couple hours although that was impossible for 2 days as there was a kids club. Was easy and cheap to rent boards, although it's a decent walk if you're carrying anything over 7".
It would be so much better if guests could make use of the kitchen, even to prepare a quick breakfast before surfing or properly store a few bits for the week. It really feels like a surf hostel environment, not a hotel, and therefore this is the type of thing that would entice lots more travellers who aren't coming to newquay to eat out 3x meals a day. This would have made my experience significantly better!
Staff were helpful and an amazing service. Place is clean and beds are comfortable. We will go back on our next trip.

All Staff very kind and supportive. Beds are do comfortable. Area just next to the beach.lots od places to visit around. My boys enjoyed surfing lessons and impressed with teacher. Highly recommend elemental surf lodge.
