This hotel was PERFECT for what we needed. It's affordable. You aren't paying for a massive hotel room or all the amenities of the pricey hotels. It's clean, simple, and had all the basics. It was centrally located, staff was excellent, and easy to get into. I would definitely stay here again.
Cancelled my room without notice.
Clean and easy instructions for check-in. Lack of housekeeping and heater was noisy
It was a Great option, straight and contactless.
The room windows looked into an inner light shaft, and other rooms. Not much light or privacy. The staff were nice but could not help me get into another room (had to be done via Orbitz?). It was a bummer compared to the Found in San Francisco.
The hotel rooms are pretty small though comparable to surrounding areas. The lighting could use some work though the bathrooms were spacious and renovated. No complaints about the hotel itself though it was an absolute nightmare trying to check in as it’s all done online and the verification process is worse than getting through tsa. The code for the building was hard to find as I and several others were locked out as we could not find it so I just checked out instead of which you need their app to do so.
Excellent location, amazing price. No nonsense stay, you only get the basics here but very clean and simple.
Pros: no carpet in rooms, no extra frilly pillows or curtains, all surfaces look like they can be easily wiped down and disinfected. You can actually open the windows. Self serve toiletry station. Coded locks instead of keys. Great location close to restaurants and bus stops. THE PRICE!!!
Cons: non responsive staff in person and online, sometimes no staff at all. No view, stuffy room with low natural light. No coffee maker, microwave or fridge, no ice, no gym, no pool, no parking (didn't need any of these so glad to avoid those costs) Luggage storage is a self serve room with a code, I would have preferred individual lockers. You need your cellphone to get in the building which can be an issue if you run out of battery or don't have Internet service. Beds and pillows were a little to mushy for my taste, sheets a bit papery.
Ok, so I didn't realize you had to download Sonder app and enter all your information to get a entry code. I assumed this was all taken care of by Expedia. My bad that I did not read check in instructions.Anyhow the property suited my needs as a lone traveller. Room was clean, location was excellent for walking and doing local tourist stuff. Many restaurants and stores nearby. My only gripe was the lower bunk bed would creak when I moved. The walls were thin and could hear my neighbors. For the price of the room definitely something I could deal with. Perfect for travelling with a buddy or by yourself.
Overall good experience, window noise insolation needs a lot of improvement.
The location is great, the hotel is clean and nice. I liked everything👍👍👍
Location is fantastic. Bed was comfortable. Staff is not polite or friendly. We paid for two hours early check in and the gal assumed I was not supposed to be checking in until 4pm. Then she felt stupid but didn’t even apologize. We checked in only a half hour early. I don’t think they attempted to refund the hour and a half we were not checked in. They certainly didn’t mention it. It appears they don’t want to engage with people. Sonder emailed me a room number different than the app so I attempted to enter a room that was occupied! Very embarrassing. No ice. No microwave. No view. A bed, TV and a shower. 🚿 and the water pressure is very weak 😣. We came and left with what felt like unnoticed. They also ignored my email regarding it being our 23 year anniversary. Chicago made up for it all because it’s an incredible city that we will go back to annually. Just not a Sonder. 💯
This was the loudest place we have ever stayed. Above a DJ-d bar with floor shaking bass & beside a dance club that couldn’t be drowned out with a noise machine on high. Drag racing on the street until 4 am, people drinking and partying on the street. Said “mini fridge’ but only ONE was avail to rent for your room. I only slept two hours a night for the four nights we were there. The room was great, comfortable bed, and the location was awesome.
This is a great stay for solo travelers who are planning to just use the room for sleeping and prefer staying out exploring. I would definitely stay in a sonder stay somewhere else. My room was in the third floor and I didn’t have an issue with noise.
**** the AC in the room was quite noisy, other than that, it was all pretty good.
5 stars for incredible customer service, as well as comfortable and unique rooms for groups. Steve and the rest of the front desk and cleaning teams went above and beyond to make our group's stay the best possible!
The Room: Three girlfriends and I spent five nights in a small room with two bunk beds while we were in town for a conference. We're too old and were working too much to stay in a hostel, but at the same time, we're not close enough to share queen or king beds in a traditional hotel, so this was a totally perfect solution. All four of us agreed that the mattresses and pillows were super comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Water pressure was excellent. Luggage storage solutions were very efficient. The climate control unit was a bit loud, but the front desk staff worked with us to ameliorate it.
Customer Service: I left a necklace in the room and only realized it once I was already on the way out of town. While it's not worth much money, it was a gift from my mom and has been my favorite necklace to wear daily for the past few years, and the prospect of losing it was quite distressing. I messaged Sonder through the app, and a day or two later, they let me know that they'd found it. We worked together over email on a solution -- I bought and emailed them a UPS label, and they dropped it off at the UPS store about a week later. I am so, so grateful to Steve and the top-notch team at this hotel!
Id like to clean rooms and more comunicate with desk personal
It was a great place to stay in general.
Good location, quietness, comfortable.
We booked a 4 double bed room at The Found, expecting a hotel experience, but what we got was more like a hostel—definitely not what we signed up for.
First off, the room was not clean, which was disappointing for a place that markets itself as a hotel. The beds were much smaller than standard doubles, making it uncomfortable for two people to share. To make matters worse, the toilet had a persistent bad smell, even when not in use, and the AC made loud noises that made it difficult to sleep.
What really stood out was the lack of staff. We needed an extra blanket and had no idea where to find one since there was no one around to ask. It’s frustrating to book a place expecting hotel-level service, only to discover there’s none at all.
This place should not call itself a hotel—it’s a hostel at best, and a poor one at that. I would not recommend staying here if you’re expecting anything close to a proper hotel experience.
Charming hotel room in a walkable area with several nearby food and transportation options. If you’re a light sleeper, the street noise at night might be a problem for you, but I enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again
Very easy check-in, check-out. Was good for a one night trip to Chicago.
