Double A Nungwi Beach Hotel

On the beach with wonderful views. Onsite restaurant with terrific food and choices. Security kept vendors from coming onto the property to sell items.

Room air-conditioning was good , room was well ventilated, in bathroom some mould built jp on the ceiling. Electricity was cut off for short periods in the evenings. Not too many mosquitoes

It was a last minute booking, got there 5mins after booking and still got a good welcome and room well made. Friendly staff, great reception and very understanding. Truly recommend!

Kleines ,direkt am Strand gelegenes Hotel mit sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereitem Personal. Wer gut entspannen möchte und auf Luxus verzichten kann ist hier genau richtig . Wir würden gerne wieder kommen!!!

Beautiful beachfront hotel with friendly staff & a great restaurant / bar

I have been around the world and have never seen such a dirty beach. Full of plastic and debris. All the hotels should take responsibility and help take care of their beach.

Was an absolutely amazing stay. I’d describe it as a 3.5-4 star hotel. Has all the ammenities and niceness to it that you want and a fantastic value. The foods delicious, the staff are the most amazing part. Will definitely be coming back

Ein kleines, aber feines Hotel in bester Strandlage mit gepflegter Grünanlage. Exquisite Küche (immer frisch zubereitet), reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet, saubere, großzügige Zimmer. Außergewöhnlich freundliches, engagiertes und umsichtiges Team (im Hintergrund und bei Bedarf sofort zur Stelle), in jedem Bereich, vom Poolboy bis zum Hotelbesitzer.
Offenes Restaurant und Barbereich mit sensationellem Ausblick über den Indischen Ozean auf den Sonnenuntergang. Ohne Einschränkung zu empfehlen.

It was basic accommodations.

The hotel is in desperate need of renovation and update. The rooms and furniture is really like a 2 star. The hotel is not value for money. The staff is really nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast and the views from the restaurant is nice.

This place is fine. The beach is beautiful and the owner is accommodating. However, the rooms had an unusual smell that didn’t go away. The restaurant had a wide variety of food but none of the things we tried were great. Just passable. The pool was well kept and the security guards were great at keeping the solicitors away (there were constantly people approaching us on the beach but the guards kept them away on property). It was very difficult to get to the hotel but they do offer a shuttle from the airport that is a better price than the taxis.

Customer service is TERRIBLE. They charged me double for 1 of the rooms. I saw it the day after we left. They admitted the mistake (e-mail from the General Manager), yet has failed to transfer USD 1500 back to me. It has been 2 weeks since they admitted it and promised to rectify it, but they have now ghosted me for 9 days. According to Hotels.com, they have also ghosted them. I have now had to take the issue with Mastercard.

Travellers must also be aware that Hotels.com is not willing to put pressure on hotels when such issues arise. Hotels.com say it is due to us paying directly to the hotel. I do not understand why they will continue to market and sell rooms for a hotel that double charges their customers without it having any consequences for the hotel, so this is something to be aware of.

They stay itself was fine: somewhat overpriced. Std. comparable to a 3 star hotel, not "luxurious" as the intro states. Area around pool needs a pressure wash. They tidied the beach in front of the hotel once a week, maybe. Other hotels tidied every day. Breakfast was ok. Location: quiet part of the beach. Restaurant and bar upstairs: very good, but pole pole. Room cleaning: great. Guard and towel service: great.

All overshadowed by the fact that they have not returned my money. I understand that mistakes happen, I do not understand why they do not fix it promptly. They have now answered and say that they have ghosted me "because the bank has so many questions".

Koselig hotell med god og vennlig service. Perfekt beliggenhet ved strandet. Rommet hadde alt vi trengte og behagelig seng. Restauranten er ikke Nungwis beste, men det finnes så mange andre in nærheten at det ikke var et problem. Anbefales!

We had a very relaxing 6 nights at the Double A. The hotel is not the fanciest place in Nungwi, and could do with a little bit of a facelift, but the rooms we’re comfortable and very clean, and the staff were exceptional. We would definitely visit again.

Good location close to the ocean, very helpful and friendly staff.

Overall the staff was very nice. The property is nice. There’s only a few rooms that actually have a beach view due to the very narrow piece of beach in front of the hotel.
