Near Blue Grotto point this stay is amazing. Tasty breakfast. Comfort rooms. Kind owners. Aalto restaurant is one of the best in island.
Beautifully located - but not easy to get by public transport.
The staff were incredible and extremely kind. It was extremely clean and the bed was so comfortable. I also had dinner onsite and the food was amazing! Highly recommend!

The fact that it was a noisy atmosphere due to construction work spoiled the peace at all times of the day

The location and the in house restaurant are great! Good fresh food, friendly and helpfull staff, clean hotel with a very nice view on the Mediterranean Sea.

Deep Blu Boutique is a fantastic little hotel. The staff are all super hospitable and everything in the rooms was spotless and in great condition. The location is beautiful, with stunning views and the restaurant on site was the best we visited in Malta.
The location is right at the departure point for the popular Blue Grotto boat trips and is a 2 minute drive from famous archeological sights. Even though its 10-15 mins from nearby towns and the airport, it really feels very remote on this part of coastline.
We stayed for 4 nights and explored the island easily from here and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
We visited in April, during the shoulder season, so there was a lot of construction going on in the area, they looked to be making good progress though so should be good in the coming months.
I would definitely rent a car if staying here (though buses are available) and I recommend upgrading rooms to Superior
if at all possible as the smallest categories are cosy for a multi night stay.
Deep Blu Hotel was the perfect place to stay for visiting the Blue Grotto -- the frequent and affordable boat tours leave from a slipway just steps away -- and to visit the many sites of archeological and scenic interest on the west coast of Malta.
The standard room with sea view was clean and exceedingly comfortable, with effective A/C and a decent-sized balcony with a 2/3 sea view. The food in their Aalto restaurant was excellent, the staff were all friendly, and Kurt was a cheerful and accommodating host throughout.
[Note: The A/C only works when the balcony door is closed (which is good), but the sliding balcony door can only be operated using the handle on the inside. So if one person is inside taking a shower or a nap, be aware that the person outside will need help to get back in!]
With only a 15-minute bus or taxi ride to the airport, this makes for a great destination for the end of a visit.
There is a lot of construction work going on in Wied Iż-Żurrieq, including right in front of the hotel, so there are uneven pavements, dust and noise in the area (April 2026). This didn't impede our enjoyment of the scenery too much, but it's worth bearing in mind, especially for travelers with disabilities.
