Pros: beautiful surroundings, close to canyon, friendly staff, good food, comfy beds
Cons: room was like a prefab shelter in poor condition, toilet leaking, insufficient heating, price was like a 4* in Tokyo or NY. I get it that we’re paying for the location and not for quality or comfort, but this felt like a bit too overpriced. It was the worst stay we had in Iceland, and in the top 3 of the priciest I ever paid.
Good place to stay for one night, the restaurant staff is very nice to accommodate my late request for dinner.
Very friendly staff, quiet location and close to Studlagil canyon. Dining option is limited but the restaurant at the hotel is good. Breakfast is served included, a big plus since food is expensive in Iceland. Definitely Will stay again in the future.
Great staff!!! Ishmael and Diana were wonderful.
It was ok
Not a lot of choices in this area and it appeared to be in the middle of no where so we were happy to see a place to rest at the end of the day. The facility is definitely older, the glass in our window was cracked, and the room only had a portable heater. Saying that it was manageable for one night, the food was okay, and the staff was friendly.
This hotel is a wonderful surprise. The room is great and the dinner suburb!
Good breakfast
Thanks for a great experience!
Basic, clean and functional. Breakfast OK but below average for Icelandic hotels of the same price category. Would stay again for less money and option of not having breakfast.
Elegant, has on-sire restaurant.
Convenient parking.
Friendly staff.
The staff was very friendly—perhaps too friendly—as they spent quite some time entertaining the two people ahead of me when I arrived to check in. I waited for a while while they continued their conversation. I couldn’t understand what they were talking about since they weren’t speaking English, but it seemed to be a casual chat rather than anything important. Eventually, I gave the staff a signal to wrap it up, as I had been waiting for some time.
Additionally, there were no cabinets, hooks, or hangers available where we could hang our clothes or jackets. The bathroom also lacked towel hooks, which made it difficult to find a place for our used or clean clothes when changing after a shower.
As for the breakfast, it was fine—similar to what we’ve had in other hotels, with items like boiled eggs, smoked salmon, cheese, etc.
We are very pleased that we chose to stay at this hotel. The young gentleman who welcomed us in the evening was very polite and friendly. He made us feel right at home. The hotel is tastefully decorated. The room was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and new bathroom. In the morning we had an excellent breakfast. There were two young men who made sure to continuously replace any foods/drinks that were finishing. One of the best hotels we stayed at during our road trip in Iceland. Highly recommended!
Stayed one night here in July 2025. Had dinner in the restaurant. Menu is not long but food tastes good. Room is clean. Breakfast buffet choice is bit limited compared to other hotels’ in Iceland.
Probably the most understated hotel we stayed at! The staff are amazing and kind! The rooms clean, breakfast unexpected and the entire premises was awesome!
Staff were very kind and helpful!
very basic, but offered very good breakfast; great location for close-by attraction of Studlagil Canyon (17 minutes).
It’s more like bistro with some rooms to stay
Rooms are spacious, though simply equipped and clean
It was very hot in the room, though there were no window nets, so if you would open the window - be ready to sleep with mosquitoes
Breakfast offered, generally ok
Staff is friendly
Nearby waterfall, so you can make a hike
Friendly staff
