Buubble Hotel-Ölvisholt

I've heard, NOT something you ant to do.in the summer. But in the fall it was perfect!!!!

Very cool to sleep with the stars

Unique experience! You walk up a magical path through a forest of trees and little lights and fake candles to your designated bubble in its own secluded spot. The bed was comfy with beautiful extra wool blankets that we didn’t need because it was so warm inside! Looking up through the trees to the sky was amazing. There are clean toilets with sinks and mirrors halfway there too. In addition, there are more toilets and showers at the bottom of the path by the parking area where you check in. There is also a place to wash dishes if needed and get coffee and lots of towels for the shower. We were greeted when we arrived and left by four Icelandic horses and their foals next to the parking area. We were also greeted by very friendly staff upon our arrival and departure.

I was in other bubble hotels, but this one is the worst one ever! I honestly cannot understand how this place is even open for business. Calling it a “hotel” is a joke!

-Filthy conditions: The bubble I stayed in was dirty from the start, with stains and dust everywhere. There were tears mended with glue or something. Clearly no proper cleaning is done between guests. Also cold - both electric mattresses didn’t work!
- Shocking lack of facilities: Imagine 20+ guests with only 2 toilets to share — no hygiene, no comfort, just endless queues. Totally unacceptable.
-False advertising: The pictures make it look like a magical experience, but in reality it felt more like a cheap camping ground that hasn’t been maintained in years.
-Zero value for money: For the high price they charge, you expect at least basic cleanliness and functioning amenities. Instead, you get frustration and disgust.
If you value your time, money, or health — do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!

We had a great time staying in the bubbles. It was a clear night and we had a great view of the stars directly overhead.

The property is beautiful and quiet. We love to see horse on the property when woke up and paid us a visit outside the tent. The tent itself is cozy and comfortable. Highly recommended for people visit Iceland.

I accidentally left my passport in the room, and the staff kept for me until I went back to pick up, so that I could fly back to US next day. Thank you!

LOVED this experience!!

We spent our first night in Iceland at the Buubble Hotel and even though it was summer with no northern lights it was fun. The bubbles are well tucked into the trees so it felt private and we had eye shades (and we were exhausted) so sleeping was no problem. The heated mattress pads probably helped too! There is a walk up from the parking and the service house but there are also 2 nice bathrooms at the top near the bubbles.

This accommodation was lovely experience to be closer to nature! It was definitely beautiful. I think it would have been cooler if we had more views or landscape to look out into.
Otherwise, the bathrooms and room itself were very clean. The shared amenities were lovely and to use and clean as well! Definitely a cool experience.
We also drove to Selfoss food hall and had some good food and ice cream that evening. :)

Oh my gosh,dont know what to say, this place is incredible. The rooms...or rather, the bubbles are perfect. We went in the summer where its daylight ALWAYS but cant wait to come back when there is night time.

It was really a magical experience! The woods were like an old European forest and provided plenty of privacy. There was a short hike to get to the bubble though so pack light.

We did have a problem where the heat went out, and it was unable to be fixed until the next morning. That really put a damper on my wife's stay, but the hosts were gracious and allowed a partial refund.

Very unique concept. Lots of climbing and stairs to get to your bubble. Leave most of your luggage behind in the car. A headboard to keep your pillows from falling off and nightstands would be helpful.
