Comfy bed, nice breakfast, great location, friendly staff
Advised I was given a 'downgraded' room after booking a deluxe. There were no proper TV channels, and the remote was not clean. Very noisy in the evening, the guests were very loud in early hours.
Location is perfect for walking into town. Lots around it. Staff very friendly and welcoming, happy to help. Room was big with plenty of room to walk around. Beds were comfy and we all had a great night's sleep.
Not enough plug sockets near the beds. Could do with a plug socket near the big mirror too so you can dry your hair if there is more than one person getting ready (personal opinion i know). Also, when you've paid for parking, and you have to move by 12pm check out day. If you want a walk back into town, it will cost you £5 per hour to stay in carpark!!!!
Location was great, easy to walk into the city and along canal. Standard room was OK but we upgraded which was much better. Staff very friendly and efficient. Also on site secure parking is a bonus.
Breakfast could have been much better, no fresh fruit only tinned. No decent muesli or granola, only white bread no brown to offer. OK if you wanted cooked but jot much alternative.
The staff were all lovely - kind, helpful and always smiling. The room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable (although a bit hard for me). The shower was fantastic.
I was expecting something quaint from an old mill, but instead of a nice view of a canal, our room looked on to a very busy flyover. The windows had restrictors on so you could barely open them.
The room was featureless and all beige - walls, carpet and furniture with only a big television on the wall that didn't work properly.
The breakfast was awful! Tinned fruit in individual bowls, pre toasted, white sliced bread. I can't comment on the bacon and eggs because I didn't eat them (I'm vegetarian). The croissants were inedible and the little plastic pots of jam were horrible. We were staying for 3 nights and after the first breakfast, for the first time ever I think, we abandoned the other 2 breakfasts that were already paid for, and found somewhere in town to eat. And there were some great options there. Chester is a wonderful city.
Close to centre, late check in, good breakfast included staff friendly
Pillows were rock hard, noises from other rooms
Warm and welcoming staff. Hotel was clean and fresh. The location was perfect for walks by the waterside and shopping in the city.
Loved the added bonus of a veranda to be able to sit out on.
Nice place with lovely care and I am sorry we didn't use the spa. Food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful.
We had lots of bags and some way to the room. The elevator was not always going our way .
Food. Building. Staff.
Bed uncomfortable. Pillows hard.
Excellent location. Clean comfortable room. Spa was splendid. Staff helpful and friendly. 👌
