Good food overall and nice service.
We stayed too long in Aswan where there is not much to see and then rushed through the other beautiful temples either early morning or late evening. Time was distributed very poorly.
The cruise was fine - check-in was quick and the room was clean. It was also cleaned every day.
Best part is the sundeck.
I think that it was overpriced. The food was mediocre at best.
It said that this cruise provides Full Board. We had to pay for water (and any other beverage) for meals - which I found unnecessarily cheap.
We checked in ourselves and the boat was very difficult to find - even though we had the coordinates. Without the help of a local we would have not found it. Make sure to be picked up by the cruise.
The offered “complete sightseeing package” was also overpriced and didn’t offer any discounts for children.
This cruise is very well designed with ample space, allowing guests to relax in different areas of the ship. Even during the Christmas peak season, it never felt overcrowded.
The deck space is excellent, and the views—especially while sailing and during sunset—were simply stunning.
The staff are well trained, attentive, and eager to help, often going beyond expectations.
The Christmas celebration was grand, reflected in the impressive variety of pastries and desserts prepared by the chef. Overall, the team did everything possible to ensure guests walked away with lasting, positive memories.
Two experiences deserve special mention:
1️⃣ Room Cleaning Staff
The housekeeping staff member was incredibly creative, crafting beautiful towel art and playful creatures every day. It became a daily delight for our child and added a lot of joy to our stay. His artistry was truly exceptional (photos attached).
2️⃣ The Main Chef
Once the chef learned about our preference for Indian vegetarian food, he went out of his way to prepare authentic, delicious dishes—at least one Indian veg option during both lunch and dinner, including daal, rice, and pulao.
His food genuinely carried the magic of Indian flavors, and we felt completely spoiled.
Initially, during check-in, the ship felt a bit gaudy and overly shiny, but the staff, food, and views quickly transformed this into an overwhelmingly positive experience.
I would strongly recommend booking this cruise via Booking.com, as it offers pay-at-property and flexible cancellation. Local agents (based on my experience) demanded full upfront payment. We also got a special family dinner on the last day at the deck , as a complimentary upgrade.
Alma Nile Cruise management—great job. Keep rocking!
The actual sailing time felt a bit short, with the ship docked for long periods in Aswan and Luxor.
It would be helpful to have recorded announcements highlighting important locations during sailing, such as:
“We are now passing the Aswan Lock Gate—please proceed to the top deck to witness the change in water levels.”
Clearer communication during booking about excursions would also be beneficial.
For first-time guests: the cruise price includes accommodation and meals only.
Excursions to sites like Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Luxor temples require separate guides and transport, which are not part of the base cruise fare.
Super clean, friendly/ helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, very beautiful deck and sun set and sun rises from the deck was awesome.
It would have been better if you can provide a high speed wifi on board.
The buffet meals were excellent , the staff went out of their way to look after us and the cabin was spacious and had everything . A great experience .
( NB We have been in Egypt for 2 weeks already so didn't do any of the daily tours and just lazed by the pool . )November seems to be the perfect time to do this as not too hot and it does cool down in December so sunbathing by the pool would be too cold .
Not their fault but Egyptian mobile data and wi-fi is poor so download movies , books etc before boarding to save tearing your hair out .
When you step off the boat people claiming to be "the chef going to buy spices - "would you like to come with me ?" is the most common con to get you into overpriced spice shops . Haha - that's Egypt . In general a polite decline to ALL the people pestering is enough - not nearly as bad as we were led to believe .
totul super ok
....
The staff were helpful and friendly.
More communication is needed with guests especially for those that try to find the boat on their own as they are rafted 4 deep and there are 20. WhatsApping someone in Cairo questions is useless when the boat is 800 km south. They also really need to advise ahead of time about the times of the tours and the costs. I was expecting this high cost but only due to one comment someone else made in a review. Be aware that the tours will cost more than the cruise. . Also we missed one tour as it required you to wake at 3am and be in a bus for 6 hours. . Another was 5am. Would the 4 day version of the cruise have a better itinerary? Who knows. The boat was dated and the food while good needed more variety. Also we were the only English speaking guests on the ship. This wasn't bad but it did mean there was little interaction with the other guests.
Hospitality and room view in addition to the warm reception of the staff specially Mr. Mohamed at the reception
WiFi signal is very weak
It was amazing... Our cruise, which we initially had some doubts about, turned out to be fantastic. From the welcoming, everyone was very friendly and polite. Our rooms were exactly as shown in the pictures. They were very comfortable and beautiful. The food was diverse and delicious. We would like to thank Martina, who answered all our questions in detail during the reservation process. We would like to thank Ahmed who greeted us at the airport and accompanied us to the ship. We would like to thank Muhammad at the reception. We would like to thank Ahmed who took us to the Hurghada bus after the tour. We would like to thank our tour guide Shenouda who especially explained the history of Egypt in detail, and all the ship staff whose names I do not know. This cruise truly crowned our Egypt trip.
The suit is very nice with whirlpool bath , food very good.
Perhaps the timing of the visit at the temples too short time to visit it properly but I guess it’s matter of decking timetable
Friendly staff, high quality service with reasonable price.
Exceptionally clean and tidy, very comfortable. All staff members were amazing, friendly, helpful, professional and courteous.
Very caring team, nothing is too much trouble. We felt we were staying with our family.
Very very friendly people and helpful. The food was always great! It's like a gorgeous moving hotel
The schedules programmed were not always accurate. In Edfu we had so little time to go to the temple.
