Regrettably, it appears that neither Booking.com nor the Hotel du Bord de Mer "Le Vanille' prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of their customers. Based on the details of my dispute with the hotel and booking.com, I genuinely expected Booking.com to handle this situation with greater professionalism and empathy. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The €67 goodwill credit offered does little to address the core issue—that I was placed in a position where my family and I were expected to stay at Hotel du Bord de Mer "Le Vanille" in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France, despite clear signs of mold contamination. Even hotel staff acknowledged the presence of mold, yet neither the property owner nor Booking.com took any action to resolve the matter.
This situation is deeply disappointing—not because of the financial aspect, but because of the lack of moral responsibility and basic human understanding. No one should ever be expected to compromise their health under any circumstances. Do not stay at this hotel if your health matters to you!

The fact that I could leave in the morning!
Firstly, there was no air conditioning in the room—only a small fan, which was completely inadequate given the summer heat. This made the room unbearably uncomfortable and unsuitable for rest. Secondly, the curtains in the room looked and smelled as if they hadn't been washed in decades. In addition, I was shocked to be charged €50 for a taxi to Nice Airport, which had been arranged through your hotel. For comparison, my ride from Antibes to the hotel only cost €22. When I questioned the driver about this excessive fee, he informed me that a significant portion of the fare went to the hotel itself. This practice feels highly exploitative and leaves a very poor impression.
Based on these experiences, I regret to say that I would not recommend your hotel to others. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these issues to prevent similar experiences for future guests.
