Gutes Essen, Lage, schöner Pool.
Die Touren nach Caño Cristales sind zu teuer, dafür kann das Hotel nichts. Eher harte Matratzen, kein Warmwasser in der Dusche. Manchmal Stromausfall, Internet langsam. ABER: vieles davon wäre für uns normal, ist aber in La Macarena einfach nicht möglich.
Jeden z lepszych hoteli w La Macarena, położony blisko lotniska. Posiada duże pokoje i fajny basen.
The whole staff and especially Sara, the receptionist. (Thank you so much!)
All good. Nice room. Nice swimming pool.
Some rooms are small though.
THE STAFF WAS AWESOME READY TO HELP IN ANY REQUEST
THEY COULD NOT HELP TO FIX MY RESERVATION
Habitación grande con camas cómodas. Las instalaciones también están muy bien y la piscina se agradece. Tienen una garrafa disponible para rellenar botellas de agua
Había hormigas en la habitación. Supongo que es normal en el pueblo, pero no es agradable
Room was fine, staff friendly, pool very pleasant, it is about 100 m from the little regional airport (no noise from there), wifi worked either in room or in attached restaurant, if not the whole town run out of electricity
Not really directly related to the Hotel: there was a guy called Henry who recommended another younger guy as bird watching guide. That guide never showed up during the final meeting to finalized the bird list. Very unpleasant.
This is the best accommodation in a small town.
The price was good for the largest room at the end of the second floor.
The room was spacious with a king bed, nightstands, and a large wooden wall closet. The white sheets were clean and smooth.
Large window overlooks outdoor hallway balcony which overlooks the pool.
Another large window on the opposite side of the room overlooks a long balcony which overlooks a side street. Door access to balcony.
The bathroom area was spacious and featured a spa tub, though it did not work (I tried to turn it on to rinse my wet clothes).
The shower was nice, had hot water, and a small window with a screen.
A/C worked well (necessary in La Macarena). Ceiling fan also.
Wi-Fi worked well.
Nice pool with patio furniture.
Stairs at both ends of the hallway.
Decent restaurant next door. Connected by a hallway on site. Breakfast was included and the day I was ill, the receptionist came to the room to take my breakfast order and delivered it to the room. (It was a few hours later, but it was nice not having to get up and go outside in the heat when I didn't feel well. )
The hotel is on the quiet end of town. The town center is a 6 minute walk away, and the docks are 5 minutes further.
The cultural show and dinner that the tour companies include on the last night is located across the street.
Entrance to the bathroom alcove is an open archway behind the wall with the A/C unit, so the bathroom area was always warm.
The bed was the typical hard slab found throughout Colombia.
The balcony did not have a chair, but honestly, I only stepped outside to hang my wet clothes on the railing. Too hot outside and no real view.
The lobby, hallways, and restaurant are all open-air. Only the room had A/C.
The restaurant staff was clearly unhappy and were often arguing in the kitchen.
Early check in was not available and flights arrive in the early am, so every day, guests are sprawled on the couch in the open air lobby, and in chairs in the outdoor hall across the pool area, fanning themselves as they wait 4 or 5 hours to check in. There aren't any restaurants, bars, or stores with A/C in the town. Know before you go.
The hotel will request 50% payment in advance, but they do not have any of the digital apps in which to make the payment. I was told bank transfer is complicated for foreigners, but tried, anyway. I received a confirmation of the transfer (from the app) of the total hotel payment two months ahead of departure, and sent a screenshot to the hotel.
However, a week before arrival, I received a few messages from different managers at the hotel, stating my transfer was never received. I was at the airport and couldn't check my records at the time and afterwards was traveling in areas without internet service. Long story short, I was told upon arrival that all hotel charges were due in cash, which I did not have after paying surprise park and airport taxes that were apparently not included in my tour package.
The hotel manager was very kind and still allowed me to check in, but the entire situation was distressing since I thought I'd taken care of everything and knew there were no ATMs or banks in town. The area is NOT accessible by car or bus.
adorable, great staff, good food, convenient location
bed was a little too stiff for my comfort, filtered water was frequently empty
pool
no hot water in hotel
the rooms were quiet and the location of the hotel was good, close to the airport.
probably the best option among the very limited choice in La Macarena
services are very low here (only cold shower, pool was under maintenance, Wi-Fi was very rarely working)
