La tranquilidad
Que te ofrezcan el hot spring como parte de las instalaciones y te lo cobren sin avisar...
What a picturesque region of Egypt! Such a verdant, fertile landscape! We watched the sunset from the 2nd floor terrace and felt awe for the beauty and quiet. And once the stars came out the night sky was magnificent. The hot springs were absolutely wonderful and well worth the extra $10 charge. Our host, Mohammed, was very warm and welcoming. He served us an incredible drink upon our arrival: icy cold guava lemon juice. Delicious. He made a wonderful chicken dinner for us accompanied by a fresh, flavorful salad, rice, orzo soup, zucchini in a garlic dressing and bread. Dessert was a tasty sweet he made himself, a kind of doughnut. The property was one of the quietest we’ve stayed at. Breakfast was delightful; scrambled eggs were a treat, along with bread, jam, beans, cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers. American-style coffee with warmed milk was extra special to begin our day!
We were surprised by the extra charges. We have been in Egypt for a month, and everywhere we have stayed our hosts have been generous with bottled water. We have never paid extra for it. 20 Egyptian pounds per small bottle seemed steep if not inhospitable to our western mindset. Mohammed’s dinner was very good, but it was as expensive as the restaurants in Luxor. We did not expect that. We also did not expect hard beds or scratchy sheets for the nightly cost. We wondered if they had box springs and left off the mattress. I still recommend Bir Al-Gabal. It is worth the stop for sure.
The location is so beautiful, the stuff friendly and the room was very clean.
Super schöne Unterkunft in toller Lage.
The location is in a perfect place if you want to stay away from the village, in a serene peaceful environment by the foot of the mountain. It's a little green mini oasis by itself. You can go for a walk, take a hike, and enjoy perfect sunsets. The host Hatem was very generous. Good and quick communication. His family was visiting the property at that time, so we could have absolutely delicious traditional meals prepared by his wife. The best food I tasted in Egypt. It felt more like a homestay. His boys Omar and the kid were delightful too. I will stay again if I come back. Our room had AC and fan. We took meals from them as there's no restaurant around. Best decision.
There's nothing I did not like. People might complain about the location but hey, if you want to stay in a busy village, this isn’t for you.
Very quiet location. Mr Ibrahim was the general maintenance man and cook. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. Dinner was excellent value. Mr Hattim, the owner, is also the town mayor (which proved very useful) and he was very kind and helpful.
Absolutely stunning location, very happy I chose this place, and highly recommend anyone to stay here as well! The surrounding scenery is beautiful, the service is outstanding, and the hot spring is delightful. Thank you very much for your hospitality!
Beautiful, quiet location surrounded by mountains and nature.
Quiet, nice, with the best hot spring in the whole Oasis.
Better cook would be useful
The hot baths are awesome
Amazing Desert Spot – Highly Recommend!
This place is such a hidden gem in the middle of the desert! The location is just incredible, with stunning views and a super peaceful vibe. If you’re looking to relax and get away from everything, this is the perfect spot. The people here are so friendly and make you feel right at home.
You HAVE to try the hot springs—especially in winter. The water is so warm and relaxing, it’s an absolute must-do. The cleanliness isn’t perfect, but honestly, it’s totally fine considering you’re in the middle of the desert.
And the food… wow. One of the best dinners I had in Egypt, hands down. The flavors were amazing! Oh, and don’t worry if the police escort you in the area or you see a lot of checkpoints. The police are super nice, and it’s all just for safety—nothing to stress about.
Honestly, this place is a must-visit. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and unique desert experience. You won’t regret it!
Stunning location, friendly staff and the owner
It’s a must stay property and worth going out your way to, fabulous walks around the property and it’s a must to visit the old Qsar town nearby (car ride), please do not miss. The property has its own amazing hot spring, where I drank a beer I had brought with me, relaxed until midnight. The dinner I received was also very delicious and the best cooked chicken I had in Egypt. Mr Hatten the owner is very friendly and makes you very welcome. DON’T MISS STAYING AT THIS PROPERTY IF YOUR TRAVELLING AROUND THE WESTERN DESERT. The owner also offers a free ride to the local town, so no issue to get there, even though I paid for a taxi that was very cheap.
Everything was fabulous
The Location is amazing, Beir El Gabal is in the middle of the desert and the nature view is outstanding! The Beir (Hot Springs) is incredible, around 35 degrees warm water and you can even use the Beir in the night, which is beautiful under the stars. I really enjoyed the food, also good vegetarian options. The owner and the staff is very helpful and supportive.
The lights and walls have a very cold temperature, which is typical for those countries, but I'd prefer warmer lights. It could be a bit more cosy, sometimes the place seems a bit practical – but for the price totally ok!
Some things costs extra (like Beir in the night, because it runs on government electricity and not solar), might be a bit surprising sometimes, but also usual in egypt.
