Managed by a private host
Well equipped kitchen, everybody was nice and welcoming including the manager who was really sweet
Ideally the room's window would be onto the outside rather than the corridor but can't complain for this price
The best thing about this accommodation was being able to sit out on the communal balcony at the front of the building overlooking the street. The view was not great in that it was a normal street scene, but it was relatively quiet and for me very relaxing and comfortable. No one invaded this space while I was there as two people would be one too many. The entrance lobby area had a table where one could sit, read, log on, write etc. This feature was necessary, q.v. comments below. A kitchen meant I could make coffee and store milk. I didn’t cook but it would have been possible if one bought everything necessary, often not worth one’s while for a short stay. All communication was indirect with the host, whom I never saw, and sometimes through the daily cleaning lady who was there from 9am until sometime in the p.m. She was very helpful and of a kind disposition. I did change rooms (see below) and the sole large room at the front of the building stands in stark contrast to the single room I originally booked.
1. I think it important to say that wherever you have a kitchen and many travellers coming and going, there exists the possibility of cockroaches. There is nothing particularly shocking about this In Colombia or in equatorial / hot / humid climates. I did catch a rather large one in my room in the morning after the first night.
2. The single room was tiny. I mean tiny. The small window looked out onto the corridor. The room lacked natural light. The room was claustrophobic. The single bed was unashamedly narrow. It really had to be so narrow.
3. Only after some negotiation via email / the booking site platform with the host was I able to secure a change of room into the double front of house for the same price as the single room, in view of my experience with said cockroach. If my experience in toto had been based on this room, I think i would rate this accommodation with 9.
Location, private room, great value, super convenient!
Very nicely located at the heart of everything. No need for Taxis. You can walk everywhere in Poblado.
NA
No breakfast, but a well-equipped kitchen to make your own food. The whole apartment is very well maintained, the housekeeper is there every morning and does a great job. The location is about 1 km from the smart/expensive area of Poblado and about the same distance to the Metro station. There are many restaurants of all prices locally and a small supermarket. The manager was helpful when I arrived before regular check in time. Good WiFi.
The first room I had was far too small and access to clothes storage was difficult. Later I had a double size room and it was fine. But that room had a window opening onto the motorcycle workshop on the ground floor. The mechanics made a lot of noise shouting throughout the day. The windows in my room were louvre type and didn't shut out the noise. When I arrived I could see no bell or other way to attract the flat occupants on the upper floor. I hung around outside until the housekeeper arrived.
