Swimming pool and saunas, that is what we liked the most. The receptionists very helpful and attentive. The rooms cleaned every day, even on weekend.
Quite a disappointing impression of the breakfast. the selection does not match the quality of the hotel. The hotel needs to invest in air conditioning, or at least insect screens, so that you can leave your window open. We had wasps in the room and mosquitos too.
Lidt for lille parkeringsplads
Ingen restaurant om aftenen
We chose to stay at Hotel St Georg based on other reviews. It's in a good central location, walkable from the train station, the bus station, the town centre and the lake, and just up the road from the main cable car station.
The stay includes a Zell am See and Kaprun card for each member of our family, which meant we got free public transport in the local area, and could access the local cable cars / attractions including the boats on the lake, free of charge.
The hotel is a typical rustic Austrian Alpine chalet, with a good breakfast buffet and pleasant leisure facilities of a good standard, which includes an area with various saunas, and an inside swimming pool with loungers next to it.
Our room in the hotel was very basic - it certainly didn't feel like a 4+ hotel, more a 2-3 star hotel in terms of the hotel bedroom. Plus we had to pay extra for breakfast on arrival. We'd chosen to stay here because of the connecting room for the 2 children; however the kids were on a pull down bed with one shared bed area, and no bedside lamps.
We found the room so old fashioned and hot it just wasn't relaxing, so we ended up avoiding spending time at the hotel unless we could use the pool / sauna area.
The bedroom carpet in both rooms was faded, the furniture authentically retro (they must have been 30+ years old) and there was no Aircon or even a basic fan provided.
Even worse the lift wasn't working at all during our 3 night stay, so we had to carry our suitcases up two flights of stairs - and weren't offered any extra help or assistance by the hotel. Arriving on a very hot day, that was really poor when the room was then hot and stuffy and no fan / Aircon to help us cool down.
So whilst it was a convenient location and had decent leisure facilities, it's not a great option for families with no reading lamps in the children's room so not somewhere we'd recommend.
Ontbijt was erg uitgebreid, veel keus. Personeel erg aardig. Ook schoonmaakpersoneel altijd aardig.
Parkeren. Slechte parkeergelegenheid.
Buen desayuno
El ascensor no funcionaba. La cantidad de parking es algo limitada
Lovely, traditional hotel. Close enought to walk into Zell am See but far enough out it was quiet, right by the stream. Fresh and plentiful choices for breakfasy, delicous. Spacious rooms for our family and loved the balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Our children loved seeing how the housekeeping ladies arranging their toys each day.
For the price, would've appreciated tea and coffee making facilities in our room.
