Beautiful place full of nature, comfortable rooms, nice pool, wonderful activities and exceptional staff.
NOT a place I would stay again. Dorms are okay, but free WiFi advertised is very misleading as all accommodation is too far away to connect in the first place.The restaurants food is good, however the service is ATROCIOUS, having to wait over an hour and a half for a bill to arrive, even after asking many times.At one point, at the 3rd time of asking, the server who we asked the bill for said okay, and sat on a swing and did f*** all.Also, viajero prides themselves as an eco friendly hostel, and on our first night, we watched employees brutally murder a snake using a combination of a log, and a belt, used as a whip.If I could sum it up in one word, it would be sh1t.
Valentina what a professional host!! She has made our time better. She always make sure that you are okay & having the best time you can. She speaks English & Spanish and knows how to reunites people together. She manages everything really well. For example, sometimes those games planned for the day at the hostel were taking too much time to get started. When she analyzed that she handled everything herself quick and easy. She has that "drive" and good energy in her that makes everybody comfortable. I have baptized her with a new name "Jefa" 😁

Stayed at Viajero Tayrona and loved the eco-cabins, super comfy! Plenty of activities and plans available at the hostel, making it a great spot to meet new people. Perfect for a trip with friends, lots of fun to be had. Only downside is the restaurant service can be slow, so be patient. Overall, a great experience, would recommend!

This hostel is nice. Cool pool and right on the beach. Lots of activities planned too. However…..the bar by the pool plays really REALLY loud music from about noon and as we stayed the Friday night in a dorm - banging music with some serious base until 2am! Yes two in morning! 🙄🙄. Couldn’t sleep. Wouldn’t have stayed here knowing this.
This review is about their EXCURSION DESK - PLEASE AVOID
We got scammed into the excursion to the Desert. Four of us asked, before we paid or agreed to go if there would be vegetarian and vegan food available for us. They said yes, I asked them to confirm it with the tour operator and she said she did - This messed up massively and we went without proper food, the tour operators laughed at us when we asked for it as well - so rude and condescending. They said 'We can eat fruit' for 3 days - Who can survive on fruit for 3 days!?!?
We also got split up as a group when we double checked if this would happen, the lady said we wouldn't be split up.
Lots of things on the itinerary we was sent just didn't happen. We was looking forward tot he cultural part of the trip and it was a big reason why we went on the trip. Sadly the dancing, face paining and other cultural experiences simply didn't happen.
We was also told we had an English-speaking guide. We did not - we wouldn't have gone on the trip if we knew we wouldn't be able to communicate properly with the tour guide. He done his best and so did we but with limited internet for google translate it was difficult. This could've been dangerous if we needed to know certain safety information as well.
We contacted the lady from Viajero many times during the trip to try and sort it out. She kept shifting the blame to the tour agents and then to us. She had no accountability.
Ive contacted Viajero hostel reception multiple times as well and they said the tour operator would be in contact - they have not. They shouldn't be selling this tour as they are mis-selling it. I wouldn't book anything with them ever again.
Also, Viajero made me do a fake booking.com review to store my bags for free when i went to the national park by the way - don't trust their reviews at all!!!!!
The property is huge with a restaurant and a pizza resto, bar, yoga, workspace and beach space. The staff are fairly organized but the cleaning staff are awesome and keep everything very clean, outdoor and in you room. The location is not near anything walkable and the walk from reception to the beach is a fairly long walk. Staff do not really introduce you to the property so it’s on your to figure it out yourself. Less of an organized hostel vibe then other Viajeros. You don’t really know who’s the volunteers are at the hostel. I’d go for the beach, get away from people and somewhat the vibes.
The room are clean, AC is working fine, a lot of outside space, nice big pool and dj music on friday/saturday. The staff is very helpful. Tayrona park a 20 minutes bus ride from the hostel. Very nice stay if you want to visit both tayrona park and than move to palomino.

Great hostel in an outstanding environment! The rooms are super comfy, the food is excellent and the staff always here to help you with a smile especially Miguel, thanks a lot to you!!! Don’t miss out the pool and also to treat yourself with a massage with the sound of the waves 😌😌😌😌Hope to be back soon!
The hostal is very beautiful, located in a perfect location. I really liked the pool, and the views of the beach. The people here are really nice, and it’s a great place to make new friends. thanks to Miguel and Estrella for helping the process of checking in and changing beds.
I had such a great time at this viajero. It's very social and picturesque place. All the workers were lovely and very helpful, but especially Miguel and Estrella in reception. Me and my friends did surfing on our last day and it was a great place to learn as a beginner.
Loved how many options there were to enjoy the hostel and area. Tayrona park, surfing, hammocks, lots of activities, it was a great visit.
It’s quite the party place though and even with a private suite away from the bar the music plays until 3 am. There’s no escaping it.
