Absolutely wonderful experience! The place was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. Everything was well maintained, and I truly enjoyed my time here. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Would definitely recommend it and would love to visit again!

Overall my favorite place in Nuwara eliya and I have been to many!
Pros:

It's a hidden gem, a property not like any other in Nuwara eliya city area. Colonial building with elegance. Large rooms, comfy beds and lovely garden for a good time celebration. The staff was super healthful. If you go to Nuwara eliya you must stay in a place like this to experience the climate.

Pros:

I wish I had stayed longer!

The hotel was built in the colonial style with beautiful gardens and large rooms that are kept well. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and they provide you a heater for the colder nights. The staff were so friendly and could not have made my stay more comfortable. They adapted meals to my requests, always checking if I needed more food or drinks.

Pros:

Old Colonial building which is rare to find in Sri Lanka,
Staff was amazing and very flexible with the checkout and checkin time.
They provide mobile radiator since the region is cold.

Great historical setting
Pros:

Great chef and the location has most things in walking distance. The best part for me was the bed, after so many bad experiences while traveling here in Sri Lanka, for the first time I had a proper (sized) bed. The breakfast and setting just made the whole experience complete. Would definitely recommend.

Good location but cold inside
Pros:

Friendly staff and tasty breakfast. but the place itself need some proper remodeling. We had nice hot water in the shower and the was strong once it start running.

Cons:

The biggest issue we had was the bed and the mattress. It was old, extremely soft and used way too many times. Me and my wife dont usually have trouble falling asleep but here we stayed up for a long time.
We had rain and quiet a strong wind during our stay and the room was cold, the wind was getting inside through the holes around the windows and doors, we had to use the provided heater to make it a bit warm inside. The walls looked a bit wet too.

Das Bett war sehr bequem, der Rest naja. Wenn man nicht so genau hinschaut schick, wenn man genauer hinschaut schimmeln die Wände, wirklich sauber ist es nicht. Aber immerhin heißes Wasser.

Cons:

Da Frühstück war gelinde gesagt eine Katastrophe. Wir haben auf 8:15 bestellt, weil wir um 9 loswollten. Es kam um kurz vor 9. Die Pancakes waren in der Mitte nicht gar und hatten einen seltsamen Geschmack, das Spiegelei war ok aber die 2 Scheiben Toast trocken und nicht getoastet, ein Plastikpäckchen Butter und Marmelade und eine Scheibe „Bacon“ (was auch immer das war, definitiv kein Bacon).
Nie wieder.

I booked this hotel last-minute as a backup option, drawn in by the 5-star classification and glowing reviews — 3 nights, at a steep price, with no real alternative available. The interior is dated and poorly maintained, far from what a 5-star rating suggests. I was the only guest in the entire hotel — after my stay, I understood why. After the first night I asked to check out early. Staff agreed and promised a refund for the unused night. I asked for cash on the spot but was told none was available, and it would be sorted out afterward. That never happened. Multiple follow-up messages went unanswered. No refund, no explanation. Be cautious if you’re considering booking here — the rating doesn’t match the reality.

Beautiful garden, great location, fantastic staff
Pros:

The garden is magnificent, the staff are so kind and helpful, the location is excellent

Cons:

The hotel lives in a past of grandeur, but now needs a good refresh. Even small improvements like new bed linen, new towels, new curtains would make the difference, and justify the 5 stars this establishment is boasting. Thanks to the manager for having listened to me on these points.

It is NOT a hotel
It is NOT 5 stars (maybe 2 stars)

If you want to stay in a 5 stars hotel there is one at 5 minutes walk and it’s where we had drinks and dinner; the owner should go and see what is a proper hotel

Bien mais peu mieux faire sur la nourriture notamment
Pros:

La situation de l’hôtel est parfaite. Au calme avec possibilité de visiter la ville à pied
Très très grande chambre, dans son jus. Personnel adorable

Cons:

Pas de bar, pas de restaurant sur place. On doit doit tout réserver à l’avance. La nourriture n’était pas top.
