A charming traditional hostelry that is ideally located for touring the Ards peninsula.
Pros:

The Old Inn is an historic hostelry located in a small village close to the north coast of County Down. There is an easily accessible adjacent coastal walk that runs along the south side of Belfast Lough with views of the estuary and further south to the Mourne mountains. The staff at reception, looking after the bedrooms, in the dining room and in the bar are all unfailingly warm, courteous and helpful. The menus for breakfast and dinner are varied and draw on local produce and tradition - try the whiskey flavoured porridge at breakfast.

1 night stay
Pros:

A first class welcome for my wife and I at reception from the staff. Very friendly and informative. We were in an upstairs room that was beautiful yes but so small there was nowhere to unpack our overnight bags so we had to tiptoe around them. We both went to the pool,it was brilliant as was sauna and steam room. Drinks can be ordered from poolside and they are delivered to you .we went to the bar for a meal that evening ordered two drinks and the girl said she would be back to take our food order , after thirty minutes I went to the bar and ordered our own food. The food was excellent but the service was slow and nonexistent and drink prices are also expensive. I don't think we will go back there to be honest

Old worldly charm with excellent hospitality
Pros:

My Birthday Celebration was thoroughly enjoyed at The Old Inn. The Staff really helped make the stay special. We were fortunate to get a room upgrade, the room wasn’t quite ready on our arrival, bags were tagged by Lisa at reception and forwarded on to the room, whilst we were ushered to the Spa for some relaxation. A combined 90 minutes of massage and facial left us beyond relaxed for the evening ahead. Katie was an excellent therapist, the flow and continuity of the massage was excellent with the correct amount of pressure, I would highly recommend. The food was worth the wait, every course was so tasty well present and cooked perfectly, I can recommend the Apple and cinnamon tart with cream and ice cream. Breakfast choice and presentation again would get 5 Stars, I had the Old Inn Fry, all so tasty, my wife had a very healthy porridge with a compote of fruits. We’ll be back for sure.

Pros:

Love the location in the edge of a forest beside a beach walk perfect for a couples getaway break.

Cons:

Thought it was a bit busier than on previous stays as I always loved the relaxed vibe but seemed a younger noisier crowd. Maybe getting old lol

Excellent stay
Pros:

First time at The old Inn but definitely not the last. From entering th hotel to leaving it has been exceptional. We where there for a joint birthday celebration and they couldn't have done enough. Early check in, upgraded room, personalised 40th birthday card in the room along with some chocolate. We each had a massage in the spa and can honestly say that it is the best massage I have had. Katie was fabulous. She is so knowledgeable and lovely to talk to and then had me sleeping during my massage. Felt the stress Melting away. Will 100% be back and requesting her.

Mixed Feelings
Pros:

This is a bit of a mixed bag so I will start with the positives. If you are looking a quaint couples stay then this is the place for you. Food was amazing, far better than the galgorm food and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. However I was there with someone who had limited mobility and I would not say this place was accessible. Car park was very small and busy, I couldn't see any disabled parking but maybe I missed it. Lots of up and down steps to bar and restaurant. We had an accessible room which had an excellent bathroom so that was good. Dogs are allowed in the hotel however be mindful that some dogs bark a lot so something to consider. Spa was small and actually didn't feel like it fitted with the atmosphere of the rest of the hotel but it is a new addition. I did mange to go out early in the morning and it was very peaceful. Drinks can be ordered via qr code but i tried to order a coffee and they weren't accepting orders at that time so that was disappointing. Overall it was a nice stay but not somewhere I would take a disabled person.

Charm, character and comfort
Pros:

Idyllic little hideaway tucked between Belfast and Banger. Met at the door by Stuart, greeted by an open fire and check in was warm, friendly and set the tone. The staff make this place, everyone so friendly and it all feels homely. Rooms spotless, really cosy and prefect for a recharge. Spa is nice feature and the ability to order drinks from
Anywhere is a nice feature. The relaxation room, warmed by a log burner looking out at the forest is a great switch off. (Possible maybe have a few more books available for guests to look at) The bar is full of character and the music at night was spot on and added to a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast the next morning, finished the stay off in style, really great fresh, healthy choices and really well presented and seating spaced out. We were both very impressed and we will be back. Just to note you will need plugs for chargers for rooms as there is no usb sockets (thanks reception for sorting this out)

Beautiful hotel and fantastic staff
Pros:

Beautiful building from the outside and warm a welcoming staff, from reception to bar and waiting. First but definitely not the last stay here. Dog friendly, and I think our two dogs were made to feel as welcome if not more than us. Genuinely, any staff interaction we had was top class, from Gavin in the bar to the ladies on reception ( sorry we never got your names) and the rest of the waiting staff. We'll be looking forward to staying longer next time
