The staff is amazing and the location is very cozy!

感谢老板帮我们升房，虽然房间里基本啥也没有（电视没有，水壶也没有，空调还不能用）但是至少比帐篷房暖和，浴室热水很足。另外酒店位置不错，就在湖边。我们到晚了想要泡面，老板提供了热水。

We stayed in the beautifully designed little domes (since tents would have been cold in January). It's a great location for sandboarding (just a short walk away), strolling by Magic Lake, and star-gazing. And this is one of the closest lodging hotels for getting to the Valley of the Whales (well worth a visit for both the incredible fossils and the stunning rock formations in the desert). For staying here it's helpful to have Arabic language skills, as the English-speaking owner/manager (who was excellent at arranging things like pickup from Cairo) was not present on site and none of other staff speak English.

Food: Kitchen staff doesn't arrive with the groceries until 0900 in the morning, so don't expect an early start anywhere. The breakfast was excellent traditional Egyptian breakfast. The only odd thing is that just after we finally received our food someone came to tell us that our driver was waiting for us - odd because the breakfast was later than we planned so why did the hotel book the driver to come before the delayed breakfast? Anyway, not a huge deal. But for dinner, put in your order well in advance.

De stilte, de rust en de woestijn experience! Super aardige ontvangst door o.a. Lubna (Loebna?). Very friendly and welcoming. We kregen een upgrade van tent naar een schattig huisje: warm water, schone handdoeken, schoon bed: geweldig!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Tache by the Lake in Fayoum, Egypt, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was outstanding, thanks to the in-house chef who was available throughout the day and night, allowing us to enjoy delicious meals at our convenience.

One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary tea served by the lake, which we enjoyed while relaxing around a cozy campfire. It created a wonderful atmosphere for family bonding and enjoying the natural beauty of the surroundings. The manager also upgraded our room for free and recommended a well-trusted safari tour guide, making our visit even more memorable.

My family truly enjoyed our time at Tache by the Lake, and I’m thrilled to say that our objectives for our visit to Egypt were completely fulfilled. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delightful getaway!

Tache by the Lake exceeded every expectation. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms spotless and comfortable, and the food absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I arrived to the moment I checked out, the team was attentive and thoughtful about every detail.
The meals felt like elevated home-cooked dishes—rich in flavor and perfectly prepared. The Om Ali dessert, in particular, was truly out of this world—the best I’ve ever tasted.
After an incredible dinner and a peaceful walk under the stars, I returned to my room and enjoyed one of the most relaxing nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time.
If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind, I can’t recommend it enough

The location is stunning — it combines the feeling of being in the middle of the desert with a beautiful natural lake where you can swim or kayak.
The place also offers horseback riding, and you can even visit the waterfalls (Fayoum Waterfall), which are very close by.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with incredibly warm and tender hospitality—so comforting it felt even better than being at home. The staff were genuinely welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel pleased and cared for. Throughout our stay, they embodied true Egyptian generosity in every service they offered, reflecting the deep-rooted culture of kindness and nurturing that defines their tradition.

Our room was cleaned thoroughly and thoughtfully each day, always left spotless and fresh.

The location is absolutely magnificent—there’s truly nothing else like it in the area. Perched right over the lake, the property offers vast, open spaces perfect for a variety of activities, surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes and structures that blend seamlessly with the environment.
