Is quiet
Internet isn’t working
Due to missing our flight we needed to find something cheap and close for the night till we got our next one and that’s exactly what we got! It was a god send. Just a 15 minute walk from the airport.
One tiny pillow for each person that was very lumpy and thin and rotten smell throughout the building and the terrace furniture all broken so you couldn’t sit on it.
Nah zum Flughafen
Gab keine Küche
The location... comfortable bed...worth the money...
A bit smelly wardrobe...🤗
die Nähe zum Flugplatz
Alles alt und abgenutzt,
das Badezimmer ein Graus,
Türen schließen schlecht, lassen sich schwer öffnen
permanent Hundegebell
Location is close to the airport. You can walk to the airport.
Nothing.
Room was very clean when I walked in, lots of storage space and a great view of the airport! Couldn't be better for what I needed. I was in Room 2, which I think might be one of the better rooms (with Double bed), but some of the others have a balcony, so it depends on what you prioritize.
Very fast Wifi! Use the "Blifenet5" network for your TV if you want to ensure high bitrate transfer (the "5" stands for 5Ghz, which has a higher bandwidth for things like HD video).
Loved that there was an in-room A/C unit WITH a remote, and it worked well.
A welcome toiletries basket is left in each room with your own roll of TP if needed, along with fresh towels, including a floormat towel! Not all hostels do that, or even hotels in this region - but I insist on stepping onto a clean surface after I shower, so this was a very nice touch for me.
Tip: If you're an American like me and prefer to use a washcloth/flannel, bring your own! They sell them for cheap at the nearest TEDi.
Nice hot water, largish tub. Never went cold, and I take long showers.
Cabinet in bathroom to stow your clean clothes while you shower.
Large fridge in common area with labelled shelves for each room! More than enough to stow my goods for the weekend. And definitely a good idea to bring your own water.
Whatever you need, Pingo Doce is just to the northwest, and within walking diatance - which I did.
Tip: take a right when you reach the rental car lot, and then connect to the main road. It will save you time and is less trafficked.
If you need a cup of coffee or a bite to eat, "O Recanto" is a nice little spot just up the road to the North East. Nice and relaxed. You can take your time there.
Cool rooftop space to hangout or even hang laundry, sparse but uncluttered.
Very communicative management. 👍
None of these are a dealbreaker, just some details to be aware of:
Tiled floors make every action echo/reverberate! I was worried about waking the neighbours when I used the restroom in the middle of the night. However, I'm a deep sleeper and none of this bothered me personally. The insulation between rooms is surprisingly good as well. But a large rug in the center of the common area or something to that effect might help.
Old-world style keys and locks could use some refitting. I struggled to get into my room the first night, and didn't know the knobs only turned one way! May be commonplace in Portugal and Spain, but not everywhere else. And the door also wavers and slightly taps against doorframe with each breeze or slight variation in air pressure (closing window helps). Again, probably something that's easily addressed by management and not a dealbreaker at all. I would stay there again, and genuinely enjoyed my stay.
The location is perfect for the early flights and surprisingly quiet.😊
It would be handy to have a kettle in the room for the morning coffee.
