Wij kwamen op zondagavond laat aan met vier kinderen, waaronder twee jonge kinderen, in een appartement dat helaas niet gekuist was. Volgens de host ging het om een miscommunicatie en er zou onmiddellijk iemand komen poetsen. Hoewel dit werd opgelost, betekende het dat wij moesten wachten terwijl er nog gepoetst werd, waardoor onze kinderen niet op tijd naar bed konden. Dit zorgde voor een zeer slechte start van onze tweedaagse.
Toen we bij de host om een compensatie vroegen, was dit niet mogelijk. Dit heeft ons enorm teleurgesteld, zeker gezien de accommodatie niet goedkoop was en we een betere service hadden verwacht. Een correcte en klantvriendelijke oplossing had deze situatie kunnen verzachten, maar helaas bleef die uit.

ce n'était pas de la faute du logement mais nous avons eu des voisins du dessus très bruyants : ils ont fait la fête toute la nuit du samedi au dimanche et ils n'étaient pas particulièrement discrets.

Bathroom needs some attention.

There was a leak in the apartment. The managers were willing to understand the problem but did not fix it.
They have 5 single beds and two sofas that are not suitable for a good night's sleep. In fact, they did not have sheets for them, only sheets for single beds.
There were no basic cleaning supplies such as a broom or mop to clean the floor.

Nothing - was great!

I received a message from rental management group 5 days before check in, providing details for me to transfer the 500 euro deposit. This was difficult to do once I had left my home country (Australia) and was already overseas, and would have been helpful to know earlier as we booked the property in February for a September stay.
The deposit was returned on day 13 after checkout, but only after I sent messages asking if further details were needed- I needed to provide my bank details. This process would be so much smoother if automated.
The dishwasher didn't work during our stay which meant we needed to handwash dishes, as the tablets did not dissolve which meant the dishes were coming out unclean.

Edited to add in response to the host: I did notify via WhatsApp during our stay that the dishwasher was not working, as it was very inconvenient given that I had to handwash the dishes. I think because you encourage contact via booking.com but also WhatsApp that you are missing messages and the ability to be able to respond to guests in a timely manner, which can also cause confusion from your end.

Also with regards to the deposit and deposit refund- yes, this is stipulated, however you made no attempt to contact me for my bank details to action this.
I had to send 3 messages about this to chase this up, as there were great delays in replying to messages after we checked out. Many people have commented about this frustrating delay, so perhaps it's time to get a better process in place.
As I said, this process should be smoother and/or automated. This put a dampener on what was otherwise (other than the dishwasher) a great place to stay.

We didn't realize we needed to bring the deposit in cash so the host walked us to an ATM. We didn't receive our deposit back until weeks later. Everyone else takes a credit card deposit, so that was a bit inconvenient.

Upon checking in, the mattress, duvet and some of the towels were stained with fresh blood clots and slime ( I am attaching photos of that), we immediately made the property aware about this by a text message. Few hours later the property manager Margaret and two other men arrived banging at the door of the apartment while our kids were asleep, they scared us, they were agitated, they asked us to leave their property within 30 minutes though it was 7pm and though we had no place to go in a foreign country. The property manager Margaret justified that act by made up false accusations: “neighbours complaining from us being noisy and rude”…though there was no one around in this tiny building and we met and spoke to no one in the 4 hours being there. I had no idea that a host can make up accusations and kick you out just like that!

Two main concerns
a) Communication re arrival. We were notified to call a number before our arrival. On landing I received a text asking for our estimated time of arrival. I texted our reply. I heard nothing and, on repeated texting still heard nothing. On arrival, no-one was there. I than rang and was told someone was on their way. After 45 mins rang again to be told person on way had a puncture but was on way. After another 30-45 mins a lady arrived. When I mentioned puncture, she had no idea what I was on about...In that time we'd been stood outside property for over 1.5hrs
b) You are asked to send a €500 deposit before you arrive. It took me 2hrs to transfer the money over. It took 14 days to get the €500 back. Whilst I accept they need to check the property after we had left, and they state it may take 7-14 days to get money back, I feel in this day and age it should be returned as soon as property checked.
