Travesseiro era muito duro
Very homelike feel
Was expecting a big place with loads of guest but it was a single house with only a few rooms. In room there was only 2 beds. Plenty of room for bags and a large wardrobe.
The area is quiet and there are no barking dogs at night.
The kitchen can be used for preparing dinners and breakfast.
The landlord speaks English in case your Spanish is limited.
As in many places cash payment is preferred.
The door does not close because the lock is broken. Did not prevent me from sleeping though.
Amazing host! Super friendly and very welcoming. 100% recommend.
Well equipped kitchen and clean bathroom.
The hostel is within 15 min walking distance from the bus station. The whole house was clean, the bed very comfortable. It's spacious and you'll find most of what you need in the kitchen. I arrived at 2 am and there was a key for me outside, it was easy to get into. On my last day, I was able to leave my luggage and stay at the hostel until the evening.
I had a bit of a weird experience since Mauro wasn't there and most of the time there was no one staying there except me. It's more of an Airbnb than a hostel, it's a regular house with three bedrooms / six beds. While I was the only person staying there, there were constantly people coming and going at all times, sometimes late at night, dropping things off, potential guests asking for price rates etc. This did not feel safe for me as a female solo traveller. There was a 12% upcharge on the price that I was not informed about beforehand.
Good location
Excellent short stay at Mauro's nice place. Good bed, I had a really good night's sleep. Mauro kindly offered some tape to fix my motorbike, and gave great tips for visiting La Cueva de las Manos.
Owner was incredibly accommodating with my terribly inconvenient arrival and departure times due to the bus schedule. This felt more like staying in a home rather than a hostel - only 2 rooms and a very relaxed vibe. Spotlessly clean.
This home hostel has great common spaces, including a back and front yard, a good-sized kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. There's tourism information, along with a number of coffee table books (mostly Spanish but some in English). There's plenty of storage in the bedrooms, and the wifi was decent.
The owner was easy to work with and was generous enough to let me stay way past checkout while I waited for my bus. He waited up very late for me to arrive too. Which was very much appreciated.
The only thing I would say is that it may be best for a group or family traveling together. There is one bathroom with the toilet, sink and shower all in one room. As the hostel has three bedrooms with two per room, it could get tricky if it were full. There are also no lockers, so sharing with strangers might be a bit less comfortable. When I was there, there was only one other person who very quietly came and went.
Owner was greater and super hospitable. Room was nice and bathroom was good. Enjoyed my stay
It's a very nice and small hostel, which had only shared rooms with two beds. Hence, it provides a cosy place to feel comfortable and relax. The WiFi is also decent.
