No hotel in actual its a scam
This hotel no longer exists by the name Vista Grand.
First of all This hotel no longer exists by the name Hotel Vista Grand It is now called "Bella Vista" ( Was Green Park) The location on Booking.com is shocking and cannot be relied upon. It pins the hotel Vista Grand at the opposite side of town. Clever really saying Vista Grand doesn't actually exist.
The location of the hotel was fine (once we found it) it's not far from Darjeeling train station. It is down a small side street opposite the DRC Car park.. Walk back along the train track away from the city approx 200m.
The hotel itself is of a decent standard for a budget hotel but it is 'definitely not' a Bella Vista instead you look at the back of other hotels one only partially built. We booked via Booking.com and were given a final price including all taxes and fees (something I pointed out) but we were still asked to pay an additional 12%. We were told that this was government tax.
We had no option but to pay, because of the fact the hotel had its changed it's name and the absolute shocking direction on Booking.com website, it took us over an hour wandering Darjeeling trying to locate the hotel. Even the taxi hadn't heard of the Vista Grand. and the phone number given on the booking.com site is wrong also.
The rooms were very damp and cold. The bedding was damp, the walls were damp. We asked for the heating to be put on and were told If you require heat you have to hire a fan heater at 500rps per day March 2026. It felt more like camping out in autumn, with everything being damp. The shower was cold and we had to ask for it to be turned on. We got caught in the rain. There was nowhere to dry our coats they just remained damp for the 3 days we were there.
We were glad to leave. I would check out other hotels in the area and check that they have heating included in the price. I definitely would not recommend this hotel or stay here again mainly due to the damp rooms.
Good service
Dear Sir/Madam,
This email serves as a formal compensation claim regarding a misleading hotel listing on Booking.com that caused us significant financial loss, physical hardship, and psychological distress.
We made a reservation through Booking.com for a hotel listed as “Vista Grand” in Darjeeling, India, with arrival on December 30, 2025. The booking conditions clearly stated payment at the property, free cancellation until 6 p.m. on the day of arrival, and air conditioning included in the room.
However, upon arrival we discovered that:
The address and contact phone number on the Booking.com listing were incorrect and non‑existent.
The hotel name on site was actually “Bella Vista”, not “Vista Grand”.
We spent more than 3.5 hours wandering in freezing cold (after traveling all night) trying to locate the property.
When we finally found it, the hotel owner refused to honor our booking unless we paid money in advance even though the listing stated no prepayment was required.
We had no alternative accommodation due to it being the New Year period, so we were forced to pay a higher price to secure rooms.
The room had no AC or heating as advertised, and the owner demanded an additional fee for a small, inadequate heater.
The first night we were placed in a different nearby hotel in extremely poor conditions and charged for it.
We were pressured to pay the full amount in advance and were not given a proper legal receipt. Total amount 40 euros per night instead of 28 we booked.
As a result of these misleading and incorrect listings, we experienced:
• Unplanned additional costs;
• Physical discomfort due to cold conditions;
• Psychological distress and disruption of our holiday;
• Financial loss well beyond the original booking price.
We trust Booking.com because of its global reputation and because the booking conditions presented on your platform induced confidence in us.

I loved this hotel in Darjeeling
It is near by train station and parking is available nearby hotel and food is provided is very good
The cleanliness
The restaurant was not functional
Nothing
Didn't get biil
The staff were good.
It is NOT what booking.com had showed pictures of.
This hotel offers the worst hospitality and management I've experienced. Key issues included a severely uncleaned washroom and a non-working geyser, showing a clear lack of maintenance. The staff's behavior was also unsatisfactory. Do not waste your money here. At this price, you can undoubtedly find a significantly better-maintained and customer-friendly hotel in Darjeeling.

Been here several times and always enjoy location and nice rooms…However upon checking in was told they are under construction and I should expect quite a bit of construction noise. I had several calls I took from my room the next morning and found the noise very noticeable. Also, lobby is completely torn up… I may be back, but definitely not until construction is complete.
My brother in law has been hospitalized twice across the street from your hotel this past year. His wife and various family members/friends have spent countless nights at your hotel exhausted at times and pretty stressed with the burden of a sick loved one. Your service and care for us made everyone’s day a bit easier to face knowing a cozy, clean room was waiting when your shift was over. Thank you for your kind words and excellent cleaning service everyday of the stay and especially the extra care you gave my sister in law who just had to say goodbye to her husband to cancer. We give you a 5+ and wish you much success.
This could be a great hotel. My husband and I are currently staying here on a weekend getaway. The mattress has big imprints of bodies but that’s the least of the disappointment. We’ve yet to feel like the staff cares much about guests at all. It’s a phenomenal location and coupled with great customer service, this hotel could be top notch. Getting info on breakfast and Marriott rewards perks has been like pulling teeth. Housekeeping staff doesn’t replace shampoo etc and is loud in the hallway. There are great amenities, like full local gym access, but we had to ask multiple staff to get that info. It shouldn’t be so much work to get basic info at a hotel.
The hotel is very nice and it is near to railway station and rooms are very nice and clean
