In Remuera with free street carpark, handy close to cuisine restaurant and public transportation

No comforts or furniture. A room in a family house with a bed. No bedside cabinet, no access to tea or coffee making facilities (Bizarrely, there was a kettle perched on the sink in the bathroom), no cups or mugs, although I did find one glass before I left. No complimentary toiletries, tea or coffee. The proprietor asks to be contacted an hour before you are due to arrive, I did and the room was still not ready on arrival. English is not the first language here, and asking questions did not necessarily elicit an understandable answer. The shower was a problem too. The temperature and flow were good, but turning off the flow of water was impossible. I did manage to raise the owner and tried to make him understand that the water would not turn off. I didn’t realise that you had to turn on the tap to the bath to make the water flow in the shower stop.

The bed was so hard and only had one pillow. The towel was frayed and not great quality. The room was clean but the shared bathroom was very dirty. Hair around the bath and sink. On of the shower taps didn’t work properly. The room was advertised with a kettle but nothing there.

Not sure
