Only once in a lifetime after more than 35 years travelling the world!
Pros:

Much worse than Toyoko Inn level for those of you who ever been in Japan!

Cons:

Very basic room - only son speaks some english- very loud neighbouring rooms snoring talking

Not good. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Pros:

Not too far from downtown.

Cons:

Room had a strong smell of smoke, bedsheets were old and did not look clean. The fridge in the kitchen was full and the food looked like it had been sitting there for a long time. The bathroom was discos but the floor mats were dirty. Do not book this place.

Weird setup. Felt like an unwanted house guest in someone’s home.
Cons:

I felt like an unwanted house guest. I was provided an access code and my room number before arriving, and many places in Iceland are self check-in, so I assumed this was as well. You basically walk into their house, so it’s not like there is anywhere to even check in. But as I went to my room and started to open it, I was yelled at by someone I assume works/lives there that I needed to check in with them, and was eventually put on the phone with someone to give my name before being allowed in the room. The rooms don’t lock and the bathroom was filthy.

After I told them I am leaving they change the options on booking.com about refund.

Cons:

Itx 's a misleading add
U end up inside a house with another maybe 6-7 Vietnam people

A good no-frills budget accommodation, very handy for nearby shops/amenities and public transport
Pros:

The location - whilst outside the centre of Reykjavik, it is nonetheless minutes away from the nearest bus stops, which provide excellent bus connections to the city centre and also links to the nearby Mjodd Bus Station (which serves longer distance bus services in Iceland). Also extremely handy for local shops, swimming pool and fast food restaurant (again, all mere minutes walking distance away)

Room was spotlessly clean and bed was comfortable. Bedside lighting was provided, along with adequate power outlets. Adequate drawer storage space was also provided

The shared bathroom was spotlessly clean and plenty of toilet rolls were always present, along with supplies of liquid soap

A kitchen was available for guests to use, which allowed me to cook meals later on at night in the microwave. A conventional oven was also present (although I personally didn't use it)

WiFi was extremely fast (and free)

Even though my room did not have a desk, I still had plenty of table space to work on my laptop in the communal area

I found the property to be pleasantly quiet (especially at night), with very little noise from other guests etc

Anytime I messaged the property prior to my trip, my messages were always responded to very promptly (usually within half an hour)

The self check-in procedure was extremely straightforward

Even though I had limited contact with them, I found the hosts to be pleasant

The price was extremely reasonable (especially for Iceland!)

Cons:

There was absolutely no signage present anywhere (ie for information/rules etc), you instead had to find the hosts and ask, or else figure things out for yourself (which I generally found easy enough). There weren't even any signs providing WiFi information (again I had to ask for this)

The hosts seemed to speak limited English - this was also evident in their message replies (although it was still enough to answer my enquiries)

Pros:

Die Betten waren super. Die Handtücher und Bettwäsche haben gut und frisch gerochen.

Cons:

Das Zimmer hat total nach altem kalten Rauch gerochen. Die Dusche benötigt eine Sanierung. Ein Vermieter hat im frei zugänglichen Wohnzimmer geschlafen.
