Wonderful memories
Pros:

We stayed a couple of nights to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, where we spent our honeymoon! The welcome was touching. We had breakfast and evening meal in Harry’s Bar and the food was great. When they say “Dogs are welcome” it is an understatement! Dusty was given a comfy bed and welcome hamper with treats and poo bags (for which there was a bin in the car park.) All the staff were very friendly and helpful, I should make mention of the waiting staff who generously stepped carefully over or around Dusty and the two lovely greyhound guests who sprawled happily on the rug in Harry’s Bar. The weather was grim but didn’t mar the gorgeous scenery. Thank you Master Builders!

Good place to stay
Pros:

Been before. Good location, staff and food excellent. Rooms in need of some work and a few too many dogs for us (and we do like dogs), particularly in bedroom areas where there is a mix of dog owners and non-dog owners (overnight barking!). Overall a good hotel to visit and you will be well looked after.

Perfect get away
Pros:

Fantastic place to stay for a relaxing break. The room we had was very comfy and cosy, the bathroom was a little tired, but perfectly clean. Food was 10 out of 10 as were the staff, especially Beverly and Byron (hope I got the names correct). We will definitely be returning.
Great value as we got the 2 for 1 offer.

Master Builder's our return visit
Pros:

Another winter stay at TMB was just as relaxing and enjoyable as our previous visits. We have been staying at TMB for a number of years and the ambiance has remained as high as our first visit, credit to all the staff for maintaining such quality.

Lovely cosy break
Pros:

From the moment of arrival all staff very friendly to us and our dog . He even had a welcome pack on arrival plus a daily sausage at breakfast Lovely rural break and despite the recent wet weather ( nationwide) lots to see and do . We ate in Henry’s ( cosy gastro pub atmosphere) where food drinks and service were quietly efficient despite having to juggle a large party simultaneously. Breakfast was also good . Definitely recommend and hope to return . Thank you very much .

Highly Recommend a stay
Pros:

My husband and I had a lovely two night stay at The Master Builders Hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the two ladies on reception and the restaurant & bar staff. The food was delicious too. The atmosphere in the hotel was cosy and very welcoming. The surrounding grounds has lots of interesting history for you to explore. I would highly recommend a stay here. You won’t be disappointed.

Great Location
Pros:

We had a lovely weekend at the Master Builder Hotel. The Location, Food and staff were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Just one small complaint. The sound proofing in our room was not good. You could hear every movement from the room above. eg. a chair being moved, a cup put down, a voice. Sounds a bit trivial but a bit anoying early in the morning !! Would stay again but in another room .

Even better than expected
Pros:

This was a much postponed short break. The beautiful location and fascinating history were expected, but we were bowled over by the friendliness of the staff, great service and superb food. We shall certainly return in warmer weather for an extended stay.
