Hotel is beautiful with great potential. However would like response and compensation due to error!
Pros:

The hotel has a lot of potential. Quaint, nice rooms. Great location and good vibe.

Cons:

No closet space. Had to leave luggage and items packed as we did not have a place to store and/or hung clothes. Asked for water puddle to be cleaned and never did during our entire stay. Were locked out the first night. DOOR COMPLETELY CLOSED and a guest had to open the door. No one was around and it was pretty scary. Waited outside for several minutes. This is around 12:30 am. Breakfast was fair with croissants not being available until after 10:00 am. Left one night early.

Hotel e quarto não reservado via booking, a funcionária do check in ainda sugeriu que eu cancelasse minha reserva para fazê-la diretamente com o hotel. Percebendo a astúcia do El Marques, neguei também. Foi aí que está funcionária do check in, orientada pela manager que se recusou a vir falar comigo ao telefone, sugeriu que eu fosse almoçar e que tudo, em 1

Ao retornar ao hotel, percebi que as fotos da suíte que eu havia reservado não eram mais aquelas do quarto que eu havia reservado, ou seja, modificaram as fotos no BOOKING para se ter uma ( falsa) aparência de normalidade no quarto agora oferecido. Não aceitei ficar no quarto ( com duas camas num mesmo espaço, ao contrário do por mim reservado que havia 2 andares), mas ainda assim, o hotel nada fez.

Pros:

A localização é espetacular, assim como a acomodação dos quartos, roupa de cama e qualidade na estrutura do hotel. Porém o que fica BEM A DESEJAR é o café da manhã, além de ser lá carte, poucas opções e o pior, sem opção de repetir! Isso achei bem ruim.
Porque é uma diária cara para não ter um café da manhã apropriado para o hotel. A comida é deliciosa, porém muito limitado e não opção de repetir.
O resto é maravilhoso.

Excelente Hotel Boutique, sin duda regresaría.
Pros:

Beautiful property and rooms, very accommodating staff. Love the Whats app chat feature for questions and requests. Pool was big enough for ratio of guests. Food & beverage staff were attentive and friendly. Especialmente gracias a Dylan y William fueron muy atentos a nuestras necesidades.

Over promised and under delivered in a beautiful building
Pros:

An interesting stay in what is an incredibly beautiful and historic building in the heart of the walled city. The location is excellent.

We were shown to our incredible room, with two double beds and the best aircon ever - housekeeping did an excellent job and the soundproofing was a godsend in the noisy evenings.

The breakfast was okay. The fruit provided is not generous, but presented nicely and tasted fine. The two mini croissants per person were nice enough. The consistency in the omelettes varied - eg one day they were clearly short of eggs as they were half the size of the other days. They still tasted nice and the coffee was decent and plentiful. Choice felt very limited.

This was the final destination in our Colombian honeymoon - we didn’t use enjoy it but felt misled and that’s a shame.

Cons:

There was a strange feeling about the place …a kinda half-lived in feeling that we couldn’t quite put our finger on. The bar - completely empty save one lonely champagne bottle placed in the middle. It was more of a staff meeting area than anything else. The restaurant - if you can call it that - non-existent in terms of meals other than breakfast. The photos and description give the impression of meals being available in the courtyard area and their Happy Wine section being a haven of social activity. The truth is that there are no meals or snacks available outwith breakfast. And the Happy Wine area has two tables laid for breakfast if you can’t cope with the incredible heat in their courtyard area. The public areas around the place felt almost abandoned at times.

We were advised on arrival of a refreshment table containing a glass flask of cold water, glasses, a hot water flask, some teas and biscuits as well as a few pieces of fruit. How excellent, we thought. This area is beautiful and overlooked the courtyard. Strangely, as each day passed, the offerings reduced - until on the third and fourth evenings there was no cold water provided at all and only biscuit crumbs on the tray. When we enquired about this we were told that staff are asked to remove the water it in the early evening. Why? It just felt very mean and not hospitable.

We didn’t use the pool as there was a layer of scum at the surface of the water that remained for our full stay.

Whilst checking out, we were incredulous when trying to pay for one bottle of water we used from the minibar - they had absolutely no cash with which to give us change. In the end, we used a card for an amount of around £1.

It seemed they over-promised and under-delivered. There’s no doubt it’s a special house, and if the photos are to be believed, was once a beautifully cared for hotel. I’ve read some responses to recent reviews suggesting a renovation - there was zero evidence of this during our stay.

Lots of potential, decent accommodations, but it seems poorly managed or under renovation.
Pros:

Location was great! Breakfast was decent; not memorable, basic I'll say. Staff was nice and attentive.

Cons:

The place appears to be under maintenance. The internal patio was messy and dirty, paint washed away from the walls, the room door wouldn’t close easily, the shower door had no handle, and the shower sprayed water everywhere. They didn’t have Coca-Cola or cinnamon for my wife’s cappuccino. They seemed to offer only the basics.
