Palmas de Alba Boutique Hotel is a beautiful hotel located right in Cartagena’s historic center. The location is perfect—very close to many great spots, restaurants, and attractions. The hotel itself is charming and well maintained, with a lovely atmosphere.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always making us feel welcome. One of the highlights was the rooftop pool, which was absolutely amazing and a perfect place to relax after exploring the city.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in a beautiful, well-located boutique hotel in Cartagena.
The breakfast was good, but there weren’t many options. A bit more variety would have made it even better.
The rooms are not very well soundproofed, so when people were talking around the pool, it could be heard clearly in the rooms. Our neighbors got up around 7:30 - 8:00, which is completely reasonable, but since we like to sleep in a bit longer while on holiday, the noise ended up waking us each morning.
Nice quiet place with two small pools. Friendly staff. Aircon works well.
Rooms were dated and a bit dirty. Showers didn’t work well. Limited staffing so bar on roof not staffed and limited support at times.
They had an issue with their AC and therefore moved us to their second location (Leones de Alba) with a small upgrade.
Breakfast, location and staff were really great
Bed was (as usual in Colombia) rather hard and uncomfortable.
Also, walls/windows are rather thin, therefore it was especially hard to sleep as some guests were really loud at the pool area

I had a wonderful stay at Palma’s de Alba Hotel Boutique in Cartagena’s walled city. The hotel itself is stunning, with a perfect blend of boho charm and colonial elegance that makes the atmosphere both stylish and relaxing.
The pool area is absolutely beautiful, the perfect spot to cool down and unwind after exploring the city. The rooms were spotless, very comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to feel at home.
Breakfast was excellent every morning, fresh and flavorful, and a great way to start the day. The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the walled city, so everything is within walking distance.
What really made the stay exceptional was the staff. They were attentive, warm, and genuinely helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed, from directions to recommendations.
Overall, Palma’s de Alba is a hidden gem in Cartagena. If you’re looking for comfort, style, and top-notch hospitality in a central location, I highly recommend this hotel.
Our room was in the first floor, so you can hear a little bit of noise from courtyard/poil.
Muy bello. Todo muy rico. Solo un poco pobre el desayuno para lo que se paga. Casi 500 dolares por 3 noches.
Las dos piscinas muy bonitas y muy utiles por el calor horrible de las tardes.
Su ubicacion es excelente y muy seguro, dentro de la ciudad amurallada. Permite hacer los tours y conocer con facilidad, los tours inician en el reloj que esta muy cerca caminando.
Les recomendamos ir al restaurante la mulata! Comida tipica y demasiado buena y bonito el lugar. Se llena. Ademas buen precio. Volveria solo para ir a comer alli. Es muy cerca del hotel.
Por lo que uno paga deberian tener buffet o dar la opcion desayuno pedir mas comida. El restaurant es caro.
Lo extraño es que no tengn letrero por fuera. Pero es muy seguro.
The staff were friendly, helpful and all round fantastic. The rooms were luxurious, the pools were incredible and the way it all fit together so tightly was fantastic. A cosy oasis of calm in an otherwise quite busy city. The location was perfect for exploring - and taking a break from exploring to relax!

Beautiful hotel, super attentive staff, amazing breakfast. Great location. Daniela in particular went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Definitely recommend!
The location
- the room was way too small, you couldn’t fit 2 suitcases in the room
- in the morning you could hear the people at the pool talking like they are in your room
- there is no hot water
- the staff requested to be tipped at the check in
- they asked at what time we want to do the check in but the room was not ready
- problems with the POS at reception
- there are 2 pools, but so small that you can’t swim
- no value for the amount of money paid, they are advertising the hotel like 5* but is maybe a 3, maximum 4*, but even there, you do have hot water
