Hotel top!

Sehr sauber, gute Lage, leckeres Essen und nettes Personal

Cons:

Die Rezeption gab uns die Auskunft, dass Ausländer mit Ägyptischer Residenzkarte weniger bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten bezahlen, leider war dem nicht so. Einen uber oder indrive zu buchen war nicht möglich, jeder wollte uns scamen. Das Hotel hat uns darauf ein Taxi gerufen und uns den Fixpreis mitgeteilt. Das Taxi wollte dann natürlich am Ende auch mehr. Dafür kann natürlich das Hotel nichts und sie versuchten ihr Bestes.

great hotel, need to control concessions.
Pros:

the hotel was indeed 5 star, the staff were loveliness very helpful. There were plenty of facilities, and it was well placed to visit all of the sights in Luxor. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

Cons:

The extra services that the hotel advertise i.e. the spa and the felucca boat trips did not meet the standard. The spa was very expensive, and we had to negotiate to get a price that was even reasonable, I expected to do this on the streets but not within a 5-star hotel.
The felucca trip was a great disappointment. We expected a trip as advertised in the brochure (photo attached), provided by the hotel. Instead, we ended up on a boat with two families with young noisy children, not the romantic sunset trip on the Nile we expected. Also, there was no wind, so we ended up being towed out to the middle of the river and drifted back to the Hotel, the sail wasn't even unfolded.

Sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr nettes Personal, schöner Pool, toller Blick auf den Nil, gute Restaurants mit fairen Preisen

Cons:

Die Lage ist an einer grossen stark befahrenen Strasse (die man nicht hört). Aber vor dem Hotel wird man von lauernden Taxifahrern und Kutschenfahrern massivst bedrängt. Da kann das Hotel natürlich nichts dafür. Es bietet jedoch nach unserer Kenntnis auch keine fairen Preise an für die typischen Fahrten zu Tempeln etc. Dieses mal haben wir schon gar nicht mehr gefragt, aber bei unserem letzten Aufenthalt waren die Preise für typische Fahrten mit dem Taxi absolut over the top. Das ist ein Punkt, der sehr einfach und sehr positiv für die Kunden gelöst werden könnte
