Beautiful clean quiet hotel
Pros:

Cleanliness. I requested a third floor room with windows all round. For an affordable additional price in winter you can rent a heater ehich works very well.

Cons:

I did not notice that it was 30 minutes by car from Ollantaytambo. But a collectivo runs regulalry.

Herrliche Zeit im Urubamba Tal
Pros:

Das Hostal liegt ca 7 km von Urubamba in Yanahuara. Von Urubamba kommend erste Haltestelle aussteigen und rechts ca 250 Meter den Berg rauf. Die Lage ist ruhig, man kommt günstig mit Colectivo nach Urubamba (2-3Soles) um von dort den Bus nach Ollantaytambo zu nehmen. Das Personal bereitet ein liebevolles Frühstück vor mit traumhaften Blick über das Tal. Da in Peru Heizungen nicht üblich sind kann es im Hostal kalt werden nachts/morgens, also warme Kleidung mitbringen. Duschen sind mut heißem Wasser, Kartenzahlung im Hostal nicht immer verfügbar. Der Vorteil dieser Art und Weise ist dass man sich unter die Einheimischen mischt und nicht abgeschottet in den Tourismus Bussen. Für nach Machu Picchu haben wir uns einen der Fahrer der Colectivos organisiert der uns morgens früh um 6 abgeholt hat und zum Bahnhof Ollantaytambo gefahren hat. Preis ca 50 -60 Soles. Sinnvoll ist es auch einen Chip eines lokalen Mobilfunkanbieters zu kaufen z.B. Claro. Für ca 7 -10 Soles wird man zum Santuario de Colibris gefahren (3 km den Berg rauf)

Lovely staff, great value for money, remote location
Pros:

The staff is incredibly friendly, she doesn't speak any English but is super happy to help with anything like getting a heater, lunch, transport options etc.
The area is very calm with no noise around the area, the views are incredible as well.
The value for money is great, you get everything for a good price.
To get to Machu Picchu, a short 8 minute walk away, there is a stop for colectivo that goes straight to Ollantaytambo in just 20 minutes.

Cons:

The room is quite cold, but the owner brought a heater once we asked. The beds also have many layers of blankets so it's not cold to sleep at night, but cold to sit in the room.
The location is also not great - there is nothing around. Urubamba is the closest town around but it is around a 20 minute drive away. Otherwise the hotel is near two restaurants and a bodega, but there is not much around.
The breakfast is quite small, unless you pay extra. Included is: glass of juice, coffee/tea, bread with jam or butter, and one small plate of scrambled eggs. It's all fresh and good, but it is not enough

Como en casa
Pros:

Tanto la ubicación, como la habitación y los servicios son perfectos. Un lugar tranquilo, limpio y agradable que unido a la atención de la señora Magda y su compañera hace que te sientas como en casa. Ya no podremos vivir sin ese desayuno! Íbamos a quedarnos 3 noches y nos quedamos una semana. Gracias por todo!
