I recently booked a property that initially seemed like a great deal, but my experience has been quite disappointing. While the price appeared budget-friendly during booking, I was hit with an unexpected charge of over 250 for taxes (I feel this is a scam) upon arrival. To make matters worse, the listing advertised air conditioning, but there was none in the room!
Additionally, the space was incredibly cramped—there was barely 3 feet of room left after placing the bed. I feel misled and frustrated by this experience.
My booking did not reach the hotel. I went there at 10 30 PM only to discover that Booking .com / OYO information has not reached the hotel and I had no booking. I even paid 620 RS online to OYO and its was also not communicated to the hotel. I need refund.
The hotel in-charge was very kind enough to search few near by hotels / lodge for me and helped to get a RAPIDO bike to travel to the other place. If not, I should have slept on the platform !!!!!
OYO should either communicate the booking and payments correctly with the rooms (or) allow us to talk to hotel / room in-charge freely. Both didn't happen and I have wasted 600 + rs for a room which was not there. The phone number given in the booking only goes to OYO central office which is of no use.
We booked an apartment based on the pictures available on Booking.com and later communicated with the property agency through the platform. They sent us photos of the apartment, but when we arrived, the actual place was nothing like the pictures. It felt like a scam, and the agents demanded three times the original price. This situation is unfair and unregulated by Booking.com, as it seems people can post any images without ensuring they match the actual rooms. Additionally, no assistance was available to resolve the issue. As a loyal customer of Booking.com, this experience has made me reconsider my decision to use the service. Whom-so-ever planning to travel, note - such scams are very common on Azerbaijan. As country, its good with weather and nature.
