A supper friendly stay on the beachfront and met our expectations for an overnight to be near our moored yacht, next Bay round. Good food, great cocktails! Clean and comfy. Becca very informative with info pre stay.
The women that runs the hotel, Becca, is amazing. Is is helpful, friendly and warm. Daily we received a WhatsApp of things to do, live music and fun facts about the island. The rooms was clean, and the ac was great. We really loved breakfast at the hotel Resturant with Miss Karen!!! Nice location in Sandy bay.
Nothing really!
Becca gave us the warmest welcome, and her communication and island info has been the best I’ve had in a long time! The staff make you feel like family. The room had a great kitchenette, bed was really comfortable, and we had a large comfortable private patio. Food and drinks were also very good and great prices. This is an amazing boutique hotel!
Everything! Blue Bahia is perfect. The staff is incredible. My two 12 yr olds had the best time. It felt so safe and there was so much to keep them happy. The staff made all of us feel like family.
Pretty, Friendly like family, Comfortable, and on a great snorkel beach. Also diving available. Quiet
The rooms are clean, the pool is nice and it’s a very quiet location. Also, the communication from the property manager is superb.
Very difficult to catch cabs on the main road, if you don’t already have a contact for a ride (which the property manager does provide) you can wait a long time to flag one down.
Staff were nice. Food was pretty good, decent prices.
Didn’t have the best experience here. When we got there the keypad to our door didn’t work so had to get someone to fix that so we could leave the room and get something to eat. Our room was kind of dark and dank. The resort is pretty small and the rooms and pool are all on top of each other so have to keep blinds closed so people can’t see in the room. Not the best for privacy. There was a funky smell in our room when we got there. there was a hole in the ceiling above the toilet in the bathroom that was leaking from the toilet above. It was kind of gross. I asked for a different room but none were available. That may have contributed to the smell. The location wasn’t the best. It’s a bit far away from west bay and west end so you really need to have a car. You could walk places though to Anthony’s Key and a couple restaurants. Although there are rogue dogs and we got bit by one on one of our walks. The food was initially pretty good at their restaurant but then we got sick (stomach stuff) for a few days- hard to say what that was from but suffice to say we left this resort a night early and went to our next location which was much much nicer. The wait staff and housekeeping staff were really nice though. The manager did keep you informed and sent messages about activities and things to do which was nice.
Friendly, attentive, and fun staff! Becca, the property manager, was extremely helpful and organized. I received detailed info before the trip not only about our stay at Blue Bahia but about regulations and travel to Roatan, in general. Plus, she relayed tips and advice for daily events on the island. Staff was always available in person or even via WhatsApp with quick responses to my many questions. The kitchen team was super accommodating with my son's food allergies! I'm so grateful! Resort was lovely! We enjoyed a terrific stay!
The set up was somewhat interesting jungle type feeling
After 10 pm gates completely close to get in , no notice on gate to call security to let us in
Great location, great restaurant and fantastic on site dive shop
Bugs - but bugs are literally everywhere on Roatan, even the most expensive places.
the staff is the most exceptional. from the managers of the property to the waiters and other staff
Very relaxed, very friendly and helpful staff!! Good communication. Nice breakfast options and restaurant!
Wonderful, beachfront accommodations with friendly and very helpful hosts. The studio was clean, spacious, good shower, large fridge, gas stove, convenient nook with seating adjacent to kitchen, keyless entry, purified water. A/C and TV worked well. Be prepared for the occasional island power outage though which can also affect water pressure [restaurant still operational so good time to hang out there if need be ;-)]. The on site restaurant provided good service with food and drinks that were tasty and reasonably priced. Don't leave without trying maybe the best key lime pie ever. Did I mention the especially friendly hosts (Becca and Adam) who make you feel welcome, ready to offer good advice, and provide daily text of island activities that might be of interest.
As an added bonus, Sandy Bay Divers is located onsite. They were also friendly, relaxed, and helpful. Current equipment, professional divemasters, experienced boat captains. I enjoyed the scuba diving and felt safe in their hands. Getting out from the Blue Bahia beach front to snorkel is bit difficult and there are boats passing through the area. Best to go while visiting West End or West Bay or arrange a boat tour with Sandy Bay Divers or one of the other nearby snorkel services.
There is not much in easy walking distance and it's along a busy road. If you plan on touring the island, I suggest using taxis (Becca has good recommendations) or an organized excursion.
The staff were wonderful. Very warm and welcoming feel. Becca was a pleasure to deal with and extremely helpful with all the guests. She really goes that extra mile. The restaurant food was great. The location is very good. Great for divers.
It’s in need of a refresh. Our room was large and functional but worn.
Great family vacation spot. Safe laid back environment. Lots to do on site.restaurant super convenient. Love kitchenette option too.
Property did not have a sign up due to road construction so dinging it was an adventure but sign back up before we left,
The entire staff and management made every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They provided options for daily activities that were available throughout the island
