Property was on one of the main streets which has the Sunday night market. Road was shut off but only a short walk to various shops. Food restaurants, shops, massage places all in close proximity.
Only 4 sunbeds around the pool which wasn’t a problem for us but other people returning back after the day did not have anywhere to lay. Plenty of tables and chairs to sit at.
We absolutely love this hotel, staying here a couple of times a year. Back in Chiang Mai at Christmas but unfortunately it’s sold out. Booked again for next April though.
Great location, comfortable beds, great lounge area. Bathroom is huge and very impressive.
I had thought that there were two bedrooms to the penthouse suite, but there’s only one, so on arrival it didn’t meet my expectations for our family of five. However it turned out to be a great base and was very comfortable. No breakfast available, although they offer tea / coffee in the morning on L1.
Staff are super friendly, helpful, speak english and very supportive and approachable.
Everything was clean, beds were luxuriously big.

Mooie locatie, midden in het centrum
De kamer lag aan de wegkant en het was een enkel raampje. Het leek net alsof het raam openstond en het was zeer gehorig. Hierop een nieuwe kamer gevraagd, waarop de schoonmaaksters al vroeg voor je deur pauze gingen houden op een stoeltje waar je alsnog wakker van werd. Ook was de douche heel wisselvallig warm en koud. Veelal meer koud als warm.
Good central location on cities Main Street. Close to main sites but wasn’t too nosy. Medium sized hotel had a nice pool, nice reception area, free coffee/drinks in the morning. Nice room.

This is a great hotel right in the heart of Chiang Mai. It’s really close to everything and the pool is brilliant for cooling off after a long day of sightseeing.
Hotel rooms are very comfortable, and really clean.

Beware of the category "grand deluxe rooms" #204 and #304. You'll pay more for a bigger bathroom while the design of your room is crap and worst: the room is facing the busy street incl. a ridiculous balcony (earplugs are provided).
Fortunately I begged for a "downgrade" and could move for 2 nights to a pleasant light room. The pictures indicatea that all rooms face the inner courtyard. That is not the case. The numbers xx1-xx4 all face the street. The rooms xxx5-xxx8 a tiny side alley looking for a wall ("your balcony" is in the hallway infront of your room). Room 109 and 110 are almost in the pool. Only rooms 209,210, 309,310 and 409 and 410 are beautiful as my downgrade ;)
Getting no breakfast having no bar service isn't very convenient giving the price.
Parents: the pool is everywhere 1,40 meter and so cold that after 20 lines my ears already hurt. Good cool down for adults though. They have 2 sunbeds for 2 people.
The staff was exceptional -- so kind and caring. My partner and I both had medical issues while in Chang Mai, totally unrelated to our accommodation, and the Moon Dragon Hotel took excellent care of us. We couldn't be more thankful. Our room was one floor up from the street and was quiet, spacious, meticulously clean, comfortable, and very well planned and functional. We recommend the Moon Dragon for price, graciousness and location.
