The room was spacious and clean. Great location. The front desk staff were nice.

Cons:

Staff were not attentive. Our toilet wouldn’t flush and I had to ask twice to get it looked at. Then it took 6 hours for someone to show up. I asked for towels twice and they never came. I had to go to front desk myself and ask for beach towels so we could shower. Our toilet never got fixed. The maintenance guy said he was sorry, it’s just low water pressure and we will have to flush the toilet more often. Sometimes it took 7 flushes to work. Completely unacceptable and unsanitary. I would never stay there again, even if it were free.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Essex House Hotel! The room was extremely clean and comfortable, which made my stay so enjoyable. The location is everything—it was so convenient to get around and explore the area. The staff was always so accommodating and friendly, making sure every detail was taken care of.

And I have to mention—the shower was a whole experience! The water was perfectly hot with great pressure, which was such a treat after a long day out.

Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend the Essex House Hotel to anyone visiting the area!

Overall, my stay at the Essex House Hotel was pleasant, but there were a few things that could be improved. I was given room 317, and I noticed that the toilet didn’t flush instantly. It usually took three to four flushes after each use to get a full flush, which was a bit inconvenient.

Additionally, the bathroom was quite small—though I understand that’s part of the historic charm and character of the hotel. With a few updates to the plumbing, this room could easily match the high standards the rest of the hotel offers.
