If you get a room in the basement (there are a few of them), be prepared for a lot of humidity. There is no natural light in the room, and even a bottle of water is charged extra right away.
The staff doesn’t speak English, which I completely understand, but they also don’t make an effort to speak more slowly or use simpler words (we do understand a bit of Spanish). They just give the information quickly to get their job done. In many other places in Colombia we also encountered staff who didn’t speak English, but we still managed to communicate about the basic things.

La verdad no me gusto al experiencia en el hotel. Primero le pedi el favor al de recepcion si me podia entregar la habitacion antes y entiendo que no sea posible, pero me sientan a esperar en una recepcion llena de polvo y estaban taladrando cosa que hicieron toda la tarde y no pude descansar!!! Ademas despues de las 5:00 pm luego del ruido del taladro pusieron una musica en el corredor que se escuchaba por todo lado y no podia descansar!!! Adicional los cuartos todos muy seguidos y se escucha demasiado alrededor y la habitacion que me dieron era como en un sotano!!! Nada que ver!!! Pesimo lugar, pesima atencion al cliente. Creo que lo unico decente era el desayuno!!! Pero la verdad no recomiendo el lugar para nada!!! Adicional me cambiaron la tarifa que habia cotizado cuando llegue!! En conclusion pesima experiencia!!!!
The Hotel Agata staff is very helpful and hospitable. The rooms are clean, showers have hot water and good pressure, and the breakfast is a standard Colombian breakfast (eggs, arepa, coffee or hot chocolate). The neighborhood is safe and is walking distance to many restaurants, cafes, salons, and even the centro comercial Parque Arboleda.
As a solo traveler, I wish the hotel room door had a deadbolt or more substantial lock.
