Cajanus Inn & Safaris

It's on a very quiet (and dusty at this time of year - September) road with cute children living opposite. The staff are lovely, helpful and calm. We really liked Karatu for it's ordinariness. People said hello, mainly children, but they were genuinely greeting us not selling things, mostly. We walked around loads at night without a worry. We stayed 3 nights. It's a short drive to Ngorongoro so we were picked up at 9am for our day in Ngorongoro Crater with other that had come from Arusha and set off at 5.30am. Why do that? There's a great local safari company, Safari Strides that arranged a day in Tarangire National Park for the cheapest we've seen and again not a long drive.The call to prayer and church singing were a fantastic and almost constant background to evenings on the roof terrace. We loved it.

Obviously, this is not a luxury hotel, but it's clean, cozy, and welcoming. Our night here was actually one of the most memorable. We came late and were about to have dinner, and then the electricity got cut off in the whole village, so there was no light for half an hour. Wonderful manager at the hotel lit the candles in the dining room for us to still enjoy dinner. And it made it so special! No one asked him to do it. So we really appreciate the thoughtfulness about the guests. We then went up to the terrace, and because there was no light in the whole village, you could see stars so clearly. There was also a church rehearsing its mass. And it was just an unforgettable moment to share with my family.

Dieses Hotel mit korrektem Preis hat unsere positiven Erwartungen weit übertroffen: Tolle Atmosphäre, klasse Dachterasse, super eingerichtete Zimmer, leckeres Frühstück, kompetente und nette Hotelmanager! Zu Fuß sind lokale Imbisse, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und die City gut erreichbar. Wir werden wieder kommen und jedem dieses Hotel weiterempfehlen!

Super établissement à Karatu, situé proche du centre ville et des parcs (Manyara, Tarangire, Ngorongoro et Serengeti)
Le personnel est accueillant et sympathique
La nourriture est excellente et variée, bravo à la cheffe !

They provide safari services it was very convinient for us because we didn’t plan yet our safari, daniel made plans to serengeti and ngorongoro. The accomodation was comfortable, staff friendly
